2011

Ginny is cooking in the kitchen when Harry comes up behind her.

“You know, I think we should have another kid” he whispers in her ear.

“You’ve got to be kidding Potter! There is no way we can handle a fourth kid.” Turning so that she is facing him. His eyes are twinkling mischievously. “Don’t go there.”

Smiling up at him she couldn’t help but imagine another little baby girl with dark black hair and green eyes.

“I know what you are thinking” he mutters as he inches closer to her lips. “Another girl will round this family out nicely, don’t you agree?”

Capturing her lips in a deep kiss. Little footsteps break them apart.

“Eww” was heard from three different voices.

Ginny pulled away smiling at him, triumphant.

“How exactly are we supposed to have another baby if we can’t even kiss.”

“Oh trust me, tonight when I put the kids to bed I’ll show you exactly how.”

She lets out a gasp and smacks him on the arm. “I need to finish dinner and I need some tomatoes. Go get them for me?” Poking her lip out.

“If I must” he sighs with a smile. “But tonight I’m putting a baby in that belly of yours.” He says lightly in her ear kissing her one last time.

“You just worry about those tomatoes Potter!” She yells after him.

“Don’t fret, I’ll get your tomatoes Potter!” He yells back. “I’ll be back kids, be good for your mom!”

“Bye Daddy!”

“Love you!”

“I’m always good!”

The kids yell after him.

Life was good.

France vs England

Going into day 4 of the Quidditch World Cup tensions were running high. Ginny was put in after a 6 hour nap and France had managed to take a big leap in scoring. Oliver Wood had to take a break from guarding the hoops and wasn't allowed back until 4 this afternoon. Three hours away.

The Keeper guarding for England now was a new rising star for the Bats but his endurance was weak. Unable to stop the quaffle from getting through, the frustration is setting in. Ginny knew she had to work quickly.

France had just pulled a beater to rest and they put in a newbie. The Keeper unfortunately was Tasha Vicaut.

Vicaut is one of the toughest keepers France has seen to play Quidditch since Grenouille. It was almost as if Vicaut could read the Chaser's mind and see where they were going to throw the quaffle.

Still, Ginny was able to score 10 times on her when the match first started four days ago. She was also well rested and Vicaut has been in for the past six hours. Ginny just needed to get the quaffle in her hand and tire her down faster.

Seeing an opening as Bale, the England Keeper, stopped the Chaser from scoring she grabbed the ball and took off towards the other end of the field.

Dodging a bludger that sped after her, she closed her mind and focused on the three goals in front of her. Feigning left Ginny waited until Vicaut started to move in front of the left post before she let the quaffle shoot straight into the center hoop.

Yes! Ginny cheered internally as Tasha glared at her and gave the ball to one of their Chasers.

Speeding to the new Chaser Ginny bumped their arm in an effort to get the ball loose. They fought back and forth when she saw the bludger from the corner of her eye and pulled her Cleansweep up to a stop just as the bludger hit the other Chaser.

With the quaffle free Ginny quickly picked it up and turned towards the opposing keeper once more.

She knew that the same move wouldn't work on Tasha again but that was why it was the exact move she went for. Aiming straight for the middle hoop this time, Ginny quickly changed directions and shot it right through the left hoop.

She faintly heard cheering but she wasn't stopping now. She had to close the gap in the score if England had any hope of winning.

The time seemed to have dragged on as Ginny closed the gap between France and England but in reality it had only been an hour and a half.

Vicaut was pulled from the game and a refreshed Keeper took her place but nothing could stop or slow Ginny down now.

She was vaguely aware that France added another Beater into the game but so did England. Focus was not an issue for Ginny.

She has two kids, seven nieces and nephews not to mention her godson, all under the age of eight around her all the time. She can handle high stress and pain. She has the endurance to withstand whatever is thrown at her in this game.

Gaining the upper hand on the new French Keeper was easy. England was ahead by 170 points and she needed for someone to catch the snitch and end the game.

Just as she was lining up her next shot she heard, "French Seeker Tavernier catches the snitch and England wins 490 - 470!"

A grin spreads across her face as the quaffle falls from her hands and she lets out a loud whoop and hands thrown in the air.

Her teammates in the air race to her and embrace her chanting her name. They make their way to the ground where she sees flashes and a sea of red.

Ginny was quickly swallowed up by her brothers and parents but she was looking for Harry. Smiling as she searched around her she saw him standing to the side with James in one arm and Albus in the other.

As their eyes connected she knew that even quidditch couldn't match the joy of seeing Harry with their children. Knowing that they created those lives together she wouldn't trade it for a hundred more world cup wins.

Harry quickly left the house with the sounds of his children telling him goodbye. He knew that the three of them and their mother was the reason why he was quitting the Aurors.

Harry wanted to be there for his children and when a spot opened to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts, he knew that applying was the right call.

Bill would be happy because Victorie was going to be starting in September and he was dredging saying goodbye. He couldn't blame him though, sending Teddy to Hogwarts two years ago was hard enough.

Of course he still had to talk to Ginny about taking the job at Hogwarts but he knew she was going to be okay with whatever decision Harry makes. As much as Ginny supports Harry's job with the Aurors, she hated it.

Sometimes he could be gone for weeks with no way to communicate. Other times he'd have had to leave in the middle of a party or late into the evening.

He knew it was also one of the reasons they haven't had another child yet.

Ginny would never hold an ultimatum above his head but he knew that she didn't want to raise a family by herself.

There had been too many children that had lost their parents in the second wizarding war against Voldemort. While the crime rate has gone down significantly, it was far from decimated.

He smiled as he thought about what had happened in the kitchen before he left. Leaving her with the thought of what was to come later tonight.

He couldn't help but think of another little girl with her long red hair and brown eyes to match her sister and mother. She would have to agree once I retire, he mused to himself.

Just as he got to the market he heard the words that sent a shiver down his spine.

"Avada Kedavra!" But the jet of green light wasn't coming toward him. No it was aimed straight at a little girl with blonde hair and green eyes.

Time seemed to have slowed down as Harry watched the man shoot death glares at the little girl. She was frozen in place, eyes wide, "Daddy?"

He moved without thinking spinning to shield the girl from the light.

Just before the curse hit him he heard screams and sounds of cries for the Aurors in the area. I'm so sorry Ginny, I love you was his final thought.

2003

Harry and Ginny had been married for five years now and today they were at the Burrow celebrating Victorie’s 3rd birthday.

Harry is watching her, Teddy and Fred II run around in the yard and he knew that he was ready to be a dad. Ginny had another two months until she finished her fourth season with the Holyhead Harpies, third as a starter, and would only need to take a few months off if she got pregnant right away.

Harry was already a full fledged Auror having finished his training two years ago. They have more than enough money to start a family. The only thing they would have to do was look for a house, because kids need a yard.

He looked over and saw Ginny talking to a pregnant Audrey. Angelina and Fleur were also there giving advice on what to expect during the birth. Harry could see Ginny paying close attention and asking questions.

He had to bite back a laugh because you would think that she was pregnant instead of Audrey. Harry smiled to himself Oh yes, she is ready for a baby.

A while later Ginny and Harry were talking to George, who was holding a sleeping Dominique, and Bill.

"Two kids already Bill! How do you sleep?" Ginny laughed. Harry had his arms wrapped around her and his chin resting on top of her head.

"With great difficulty! Victorie is easy enough to put down but sometimes Dominique will wake her back up in the middle of the night. Fleur and I have to divide and conquer at two, four, and six almost every day now it seems." Bill says with a smile on his face, "It is so worth it. I can't imagine life without my girls now."

"Yeah I know what you mean. The first year after Fred was born Angela and I couldn't find a rhythm to save our lives. We decided to take turns getting up and then somewhere along the way she was getting up with me because one thing or another. Then of course I felt bad, so I got up with her. I am so happy he sleeps through the night now!" George groans

Bill looks over to Harry and Ginny, "What about you guys? Planning to make me an uncle?"

"William Weasley are you asking about your little sisters sex life! And George already made you an uncle!" Ginny chuckled

Bill blushed and stuttered that Fleur was calling him and George trailed after him. Ginny guffawed at their retreating backs.

"Don't take your potion this month" Harry whispered in her ear. He felt her go still in his arms but she didn't turn around. "Let's add a Potter to this crazy family. Maybe she can calm everyone down."

"She?" Ginny asked with a smile in her voice. She was just as anxious to add an addition as he was. "What makes you think I'll get pregnant with a girl AND that she would calm anyone down. After all she would be part Weasley and Potter you weren't exactly known for a tame childhood."

"I'm not hearing a no." She finally turned to meet his eyes.

"That's because I'm not saying no." She kissed him softly, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Hey! There are children present! Hands off my sister Potter!" George yells out

"He does more than put his hands on me!" Ginny retorted breaking the kiss to turn to her older brother. Hands on her hips.

"Woah"

"Hey now!"

"I didn't need to hear that…"

"What's wrong with you Ginny I'm eating"

Her various brothers called through the yard as Harry chuckles and hides his face in her hair.

"Are you serious?" Ginny asked Harry.

"Of course I'm not Sirius, I'm Harry. Sirius would never have kids!" He chuckled as she smacked his arm. "I want to expand our family, Ginny. A little girl that looks just like her beautiful mum."

"Hmm. Maybe I want a little boy with his devilishly handsome fathers good looks."

Ginny stopped what she was doing in the kitchen as she heard a voice from the fire call out to her. It was Kingsley Shacklebolt, how odd that he was looking for her.

"Hey King, Harry isn't here right now, he stepped out for a moment to go to the market." She explained once she reached the fireplace.

"Actually Ginny I was looking for you, can I come through?" He said.

"Oh? Yeah come on through I'll put on some tea." She hurried back to the kitchen and put the burners on low so she didn't burn dinner.

Gathering the tea she met Shacklebolt in the living area where her three kids were jumping up and down all over him.

"James! Albus! Lily! Stop jumping on the Minister!" She scolded them quickly, "Go play in the other room, Mommy and King have business to talk."

"Oh it's quite alright Ginny, don't worry." He said as the kids got down and ran from the room. Making loud noises in the other room.

She smiles and shakes her head, "If I don't scold them now you will find yourself still here three hours from now with bows in your hair and playing Aurors with the kids." She laughs setting the tea down. "Now what can I do for you?"

"Ginny, I need to tell you some difficult news." He started and she frowned. What could the Minister of Magic possibly tell her? They have been friends since the end of the war but it was clear he was here on official business.

"Difficult? Should we wait for Harry? He should be back soon, he just went to the market for a couple of tomatoes." She quickly explained. If something bad was going on she wanted Harry to be with her.

A thousand different scenarios went through her head but none compared to what he had said.

"Ginny, ten minutes ago a man followed his ex-wife to the market and she was suing him for child support. He thought that if the child was no longer around then he wouldn't have to pay." He said in a soft tone, willing her to understand what he was trying to say without having to actually say it.

"I don't understand King, what does this have to do with me?" She was more confused now that he started talking.

"Harry was there. He stopped him from killing the little girl. Harry shield her with his own body from the killing curse." He paused as understanding and then dred crossed her face. She started shaking her head. "Ginny, Harry is dead."

"No." She whispered, "He went out for tomatoes. He is coming home!" She yelled out.

Ginny vaguely registered that the sounds from the other room paused.

"I am so sorry, Ginny. There was nothing that we could do. I don't think that he even realised what he was doing, until it was too late."

"YOU DON'T THINK-- WHAT THAT HE WANTED TO GIVE UP HIS FAMILY! THAT HE WANTED TO DIE! TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW, NOT WHAT YOU THINK!" Ginny shouted standing so that she was glaring down at him.

"Ginny." He stands up and her eyes follow him the whole time, "I cannot tell you enough how sorry I am for your loss. Harry had become a good friend of mine and no one deserved a lifetime of happiness more. From the bottom of my heart I regret that I am the one to tell you Harry is dead."

Harry is dead

She felt like she was hit by a bludger in the chest. The air quickly left her lungs as her eyes widen and fill with tears. Her knees buckled as she struggled to stay standing.

Harry is dead.

"No," she gasped out. Crying out, "He just went to the market for tomatoes."

“Mom” James whispered, “What’s wrong? Where is Daddy?”

She whipped her head around and saw James with Albus behind him holding Lily tightly. The tears were already forming in James and Albus’s eyes.

Harry is dead.

She couldn’t tell them. “I- uh. Your dad..” Kingsley stepped forward.

“Kids, your dad went to the market and he stopped a very bad man." Ginny watched with wide eyes as Kingsley told her children what he just told her. "He was hurt really bad and died."

1998

Harry had made his way to the seventh year boys dormitory in Gryffindor once he was able to get away from everyone. Once there he called for Kreacher and asked for a change of clothes and sandwich.

After a long shower and eating the food Kreacher left for him, Harry fell into bed face first. He didn't wake until a body slid into his bed next to him. On instinct he reached for his wand immediately only to stop when his eyes connected with the brown eyes of Ginny.

"Ginny," he whispered, afraid that if he spoke any louder that she would fade away.

"Hi," she said just as quietly. They just stared at each other for the longest time until Ginny broke the silence. "I didn't mean to wake you. I just needed to see for myself that you were okay… I can go if-"

"NO." Harry all but shouted at her, his hand moved to grasp her wrist. "Please stay… "

Harry and Ginny spent the rest of the night talking. He filled her in about Dumbledore and the Horcruxes and then of Snap and his parents. She told him about the DA and the Carrows and Luna going missing and then having to go into hiding herself.

Somehow they both made it out alive and just like when he first kissed her, without thinking about it, he said, "Marry me, Ginny. I don't want to spend another night without you that I don't have to. Marry me and become my wife."

Ginny's breath catches and she chokes out, "Yes! I'll marry you Harry. But I want to get married now. I don't want to wait and I don't need a big wedding. Just you and me, that's all that matters."

"Are you sure? What about your parents, your brothers? I -"

"All I need is you."

Harry looks out the window and sees the sun starting to rise. Looking back to her, he smiles, "Well I think today is the perfect day for a wedding."

They got up and Ginny started to panic, "Harry, my parents and brothers are downstairs! There is no way we will be able to get past them!" He glances at the door quickly before he figures out what to do.

"Kreacher!" He called quietly

"Yes Master." Kreacher came with a quick pop and bowed so low the locket Harry gave him brushed the floor.

"Kreacher, do you think you can get me and Ginny out of the castle unseen?" Harry begged.

The house-elf looked affronted, "Of course, where would Master and future Mistress like to go?"

Ginny and Harry exchanged a look, How does Kreacher know that we are engaged, "Forfar, Scotland please Kreacher."

Forfar was a small Wizarding town that performed same day marriages. It is the best place to go for witches and wizards to go when they want to elope. Perfect for Ginny and Harry too because you only need to be 15 to get married in Scotland where you need to be 17 in England.

Before they left Harry quickly transfigured his scar away and changed his hair to a sandy blond. He turned to Ginny and changed her hair to pitch black. "That way people won't recognise us right away," he smirked.

When they arrived the entire town was celebrating. Witches and wizards were in the streets singing and drinking.

"Sweet Merlin the sun has barely risen!" Ginny muttered under her breath, "Maybe we should have gone to a muggle town Harry."

"No, I want to be married to you properly in a wizarding ceremony. If word gets out that we are here so be it! It's going to come out anyway once we are at the chapel." He looks down at her cupping her cheek, "I don't want to hide what we are doing as if I am ashamed. I love you Ginevera Molly Weasley."

She bites her lip and then leans up on her toes and kisses him. "I love you Harry James Potter" she whispered against his lips.

They make their way down to the chapel and put down fake names for them time being.

"It's going to be a two hour wait. Here are the themes you can choose from. If you would like to get a dress or suit there is a shop two doors down. There is also a place to buy a ring if you would like." The woman behind the counter says bored, chewing her gum, she drops a binder down in front of them.

Harry and Ginny fight back their laughter as they look through the binder. They have everything from a fake Merlin to a fake Harry Potter! Ginny's eyes widen when she saw the fake Harry in the photo.

"Oh Honey, we have to have the Savior of the Wizarding World marry us!" She says in an overly fake sugary tone.

"No," he says and glares at her. He has that wicked look on her face that says We are not forgetting this.

"Here this is the one we want." Harry points to a simple package with a couple standing under a gazebo, lights floating around them, and flowers settled around the aisle. "It's beautiful AND it has a normal minister."

"Oh fine, you're no fun." Ginny pouted but her eyes glazed over with tears when she saw the photo. She knew that it was perfect for them.

Hand in hand they walked down to the shop that sold rings and picked out a plain silver set.

"I'll buy you a real ring one day," he promised her.

"I just need you," she replied just as softly.

Ginny didn't grow up with money, so she was used to only having the bare minimum. While Harry may be wealthy, that did not mean that she needed anything flashy. She was already so in love with her band and she wasn't even wearing it yet!

With only an hour left to spare they hurried to the next store to find something appropriate to wear. They split up with Harry heading to the wizards section and Ginny the witches.

With the help of a sales associate Ginny found a white skater dress with a halter bodice. The top portion was covered in a floral lace and the skirt stopped right above her knee. It was flawless.

The witch had also offered to do her hair and makeup free of charge. She swept her still black hair into a messy bun and styled some loose strands in front of her face. The makeup was also subtle with only a hint of blush but bright red lips. She also darked her lashes with mascara.

Ginny loved the way her hair and makeup looked with her dress. "It's exquisite."

When she met Harry in front of the shop with only ten minutes left, he froze. His lips parted eyes sweeping her from head to toe. He licked his lips, "You look divine, my love. Let's go get married," He held out a hand towards her.

Their ceremony was short and sweet. With no family present they had to use two random strangers as their witnesses but luckily found a cute elderly couple that willingly stepped in for them. Right before the minister started Harry took off his and Ginny's illusions and corrected the names on the paper.

The minister only looked slightly startled and chuckled. Their witnesses however let out loud gasps. "Susan that's Harry Potter." "I see that Greg!"

Harry and Ginny only had eyes for each other and married under the enchanted darkened sky with lights floating around them. Pictures were taken by the photographer that came with the package they ordered.

"You are now pronounced Mrs. and Mr. Harry Potter, you may kiss your bride!"

As he leaned down and touched his lips to hers he muttered, "Finally."

They were going to spend the rest of their lives together. Nothing or no one would ever come between them again.
