Hi! My name is Syn. I'm a Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione junkie, but then again, who here isn't?
I love to write fanfiction and have been doing it for several years now. I started out in the Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer fandoms and have won several online awards for my stories. Eventually I grew tired of Buffy and Angel (mostly because of the naff way the shows have been handled, but I won't go into that here lol) I have written for several other fandoms, but nothing has quite kept my interest the way Angel and Buffy and now, HP, have.
I'm not quite sure how I ended up in the HP fandom, though I've been a fan of the books since they hit stateside. I resisted shipping and fic for as long as I could--and that was a pretty long time if you ask me, but I finally broke down several months ago and just went for it.
I like to write slightly darker fiction than one normally sees in the HP fandom, though I don't say no to fluff as a rule. In fact, I love fluff and can be found writing it from time to time, though its less rare than the dark fiction. I deal with pretty heavy issues in my stories and violence is never far from my storyline, so I get that my stories aren't for everyone. I hope those that can stomach what I do to the characters enjoy what I write. And I hope those that are understandably squeamish stick my stories out (especially Cicatrix) because no matter how dark it gets, I always make sure the characters end up with more hope than they started out with. I may put them through hell, but I love them too much to hurt them for long.
