In early 2006, PhoenixAeternum approached MaxFic about helping the latter with his stories, as he had been having some problems.
The original plan was to rewrite much of MaxFic's Harry Potter works; we started with Gift From the Past and intended to continue on to Harry Potter and the Time Mage, its embryonic sequel, and others.
PhoenixAeternum rewrote much of MaxFIc's original drafts of Gift From the Past, and what you see on this site reflects that. Despite highest hopes and loftiest goals, reality destroyed our dreams. PhoenixAeternum experienced some personal issues and Gift was abandoned after six chapters.
The Janus project can be declared officially dead. PhoenixAeternum is back in the fandom and still has MaxFic's original drafts of Gift, but would feel bad posting anything without his knowledge, even rewrites.
