Harry stormed out of the library, for what would seem like the millionth time in just a few days. Someone had said something, which had sent him off again. This was becoming so routine that Ron and Hermione did not even bother to debate about whether they should follow; they kept their seats and returned to researching their potions essays. Ginny however, stuck her hand in her pocket and felt that well-worn piece of parchment, and decided to follow him. Without thinking she summoned her cloak from the Gryffindor Tower, and began to walk in the direction Harry had left. She knew exactly where he was going. With a small whoosh her cloak arrived in her hands, and slipped it on. She pushed the doors to the entrance hall open and walked toward the Quidditch pitch. On the way she snatched her broom up from the broom shed, and flew the rest of the way. A dark figure was flying quickly around the pitch. In quick circles she followed him, not talking, just allowing him time to think, but not have to endure being alone.
After a long while he landed, and she came softly to the ground next to her. He glared at her, and she held his gaze until he tore his eyes away. That short time was enough for her to see the pain mixed in with the anger.
“You shouldn’t have come.” He said harshly.
“I couldn’t let you be alone.” She replied.
He remained silent for a while, as if an inner debate was taking place. “Everyone close to me gets hurt. It’s my fault. Stay away.”
“No.” she replied simply.
“Stay away,” he said again, though he couldn’t cover the pain in his voice.
“Harry-“ she began but he interrupted her again.
“Everyone around me gets hurt. Stay away.” He had his back to her, but she could tell, slowly, his barriers were braking down.
“No,” she said, “Harry, now is the time you need people most. I know that you haven’t had anyone to really trust for the years when you most needed someone. I know that you’re not used to being open, or relying on people,” she paused as she tried to gain control of her quavering voice. Once in control she continued, “And I know, as soon as you really got to know and love Sirius, he was ripped away from you. But Harry, it’s not your fault, it really isn’t.”
“Who’s is it then?” he asked hoarsely.
“Voldemort, Bellatrix Lestrange, the Death Eaters. Circumstance, fate. You name it, but it wasn’t you.” She put her hand on his shoulder, and he whipped around.
“If it weren’t for me and my ‘hero complex’ he would still be alive Ginny,” he said quietly, as if he resigned himself to it.
“Harry, you can call it a hero complex if you want but its not a bad thing to have. You care about people so much you’d risk your life for them. It shows passion, and strength, and love, and bravery, and compassion! And you can’t know that he would still be alive. Sirius was brave too, maybe too brave for his own good. Something else would have happened and he would have wanted to be right in the middle of it, and he was so strong that nothing would have stopped him.” She finished exasperatedly.
He looked her squarely in the eyes for a couple of minutes before saying in a unsteady voice, “I couldn’t stand it if someone else was lost because of my stupidity.”
Ginny couldn’t believe he had said that. She quickly reached into her pocket and drew out that old letter from Harry. She slowly handed him the tatty parchment. “I always have this on me.” She explained, “Whenever I start to think back, to… the Chamber, I pull this letter out, and it makes me feel better. I really think you need it right now more than I do.” She looked away.
Harry began to read out loud:
“Ginny-
Hi, it’s Harry,” he paused, as if trying to remember exactly what he’d said, “I know I haven’t written you before, but I wanted to check and see how you were. I know it’s been a terrible year for you and I am really sorry that none of us noticed anything wrong. I guess I was too caught up with my own problems,” he laughed hollowly and muttered, “Isn’t that always the way.” He began again, “Everyone thinking I was the heir of Slytherin. I just wanted you to know that I know how it feels to be ridiculed like I am betting you will be, and if I can help at all, please let me know.” He stopped again, remembering she had never responded, and wondered silently why. “Alright, take care Ginny. I’m not supposed to be using Hedwig at all for sending letters, but my ‘aunt’ is coming and I have to have Hedwig stay with you guys as my ‘aunt’ knows nothing of my ‘abnormality.’” He let out a bark like laugh and stopped, wondering exactly where that had come from. He felt proud suddenly, realizing where he had heard that laugh. He was glad to resemble Sirius in any way. He started to read again, “I’ve attached a note to Ron about Hedwig so you don’t have to explain it. Whatever people say Ginny, it wasn’t your fault,” he broke off again and cleared his throat before continuing, “Do not feel guilty, you can’t change the past, only learn from it,” He thought aloud, “When did I start channeling Dumbledore.” Ginny smiled and Harry started again. “You fought back and kept a death from occurring.” “More than I can say for myself,” he said morosely. “You are a true Weasley and a true Gryffindor. I really hope your summer improves, and I’ll see you at Hogwarts.
The Best,
Harry”
“This is different.” He concluded.
“How? Beside the fact that I had Voldemort in my head for a year and you’ve had him somewhere there your entire life? We both fought back. Harry, do you not realize that you saved us that night. Your quick thinking kept us all from dying. You used the information you had, and tried to do the right thing. We can’t see consequences to our decisions before hand, otherwise there would be no mistakes, there would be no bad in the world-“
“Then I wish it were like that.” He interrupted.
“Don’t you see Harry? Then there would be no good in the world either? With out bad, how can we recognize what’s good, and build on what we have. In this world, we have to take chances. Granted, most may not turn out the way we plan, but some do, and by taking chances, we insure some good things will happen.”
He stood there silently, some inner debate taking place. He looked up at her, and said barley audibly, “You’re right.” He slowly closed the difference between them and pulled her into a… hug. She could feel her heart breaking again as she returned the hug. She had felt sure he was going to kiss her. She had told herself she was over him, that she only carried around the letter for moral support, but the truth was, she still loved him, and that was the nicest thing he had ever done for her. She hugged him fiercely; letting him feel all the love she had for him, all the love he had never received that he should have. She closed her eyes and took in his smell. A smell, uniquely, Harry. Too quickly he pulled away. He gave her the first genuine smile she had seen on his face for a while, and that made all the pain worth it.
“Take chances Ginny, follow your own advice,” she thought to herself. In a split second she had decided. She raised her face to his and kissed him squarely on the lips. Though shocked at first, he kissed her back. She thought to herself, “This is it, this is the way it’s supposed to be.”

A/n- This is it. The final installment of the three. I did them really quickly together because stories float around in my head and drive me nuts until I write them out. Tell me what you think. Please leave a review!
