Harry and Ron waited nervously in the changing room, but their nerves had nothing to do with the World Cup Quidditch match they were about to play. Instead, their thoughts focused on a certain question they both wanted to ask their girls. Ron was sitting on the bench, wringing his hands, while Harry was pacing, back and forth in front of him. They both seemed to be playing with small boxes in their pockets. They listened intently to the minister, but still both jumped a mile when they heard their cue. Wishing each other good luck, they headed for the pitch.

“Hello, and welcome to the Quidditch World Cup…..” the minister began to announce. The crowd began to murmur excitedly, but most excited of all was the family of the two newest Chudley Cannon players.
“I’m so excited!” exclaimed Ginny.
“I know! I can’t believe both Harry and Ron made the Chudley Cannons team,” replied Hermione, who was sitting next to her. They were sitting in the family box, located directly below the top box, along with the rest of the Weasley family. After they had successfully defeated Voldemort, the Trio had returned to Hogwarts for their final year of school. They were then in the same year as Ginny since they had been gone for the last term. Harry and Ginny had picked up where they left off, and Hermione and Ron had finally admitted their feelings. It had felt amazing to have their biggest problems be upcoming exams. Everyone had been more relaxed and the boys, more often then not, had spent their free time practicing Quidditch, soon becoming the pride and joy of the Gryffindor house. After their school year, Harry and Ron joined the Cannons, helping them to the World cup, while both Ginny and Hermione trained to be Healers.
The girls continued to chat excitedly when something the minister said caught their attention.
“…. the Cannons new star players would like to now call Hermione Granger and Ginny Weasley down to the pitch.”
“Oh my gosh!” screamed Hermione. “That’s never happened before! I would have read about it,” she said excitedly as she turned towards Ginny.
“Come on!” shouted Ginny happily as she yanked her friend’s hand, pulling her down the many sets of stairs. The minister watched as they finally reached the bottom. He sent down a quick spell to magnify their voices. The girls ran across the perfectly-kept Quidditch field, stopping in the center.
“Harry, Ron … what’s this all about?” asked Hermione.
“Well…” began Harry nervously. He was staring at the ground, unable to look into Ginny’s eyes.
“We wanted to ask you something,” said Ron in a rushed voice. He was also looking as if he were highly interested in his shoes. Before either girl could respond, the boys were both on one knee.
“Hermione, I love you so much…..” said Ron with a little more confidence.
“… and Ginny I love you more then anything,” said Harry firmly.
“Will you marry me?” they said simultaneously.
“Yes,” whispered Hermione as Ron stood and pulled her into a tight embrace. “I love you,” she whispered in his ear. He picked her up and twirled her. They were both grinning like mad, as he set her back down on her feet. He kissed her lightly on the lips before pulling out a small velvet box. Ron opened it, revealing a simple golden engagement ring with a small diamond in the middle. Hermione gasped aloud at its beauty as he slipped it onto her ring finger before kissing her again.
“Of course!” said Ginny before leaping on Harry and kissing him soundly before he even had the chance to stand. He toppled over under her weight. She giggled as he stood up, and he took her hand to help her to her feet. As she stood there, he tugged her hand and pulled her closer before taking a small wooden box out of his pocket. He opened it and saw her eyes lit up as she saw the beautiful golden ring, sparkling with emeralds in an intricate pattern in the middle.
“Awww,” sighed the crowd. The four of them looked up to see everyone smiling with joy, and many of the females with tears in their eyes. They all seemed to think that this was the perfect way to finally push away all the bad thoughts from the war, as they watched their heroes starting into a new, much happier phase of their lives.
Both the girls had tears of happiness flowing down their cheeks as they returned to the stands, while showing each other their new gorgeous engagement rings. They had been waiting forever to see their boyfriends play in this match, but now all they wanted was for it to be over so that they could celebrate with their new fiancés.
The guys walked back to the changing rooms with huge grins on their faces as they slapped each other on the back in congratulations. They entered the locker room to finish getting ready, knowing that the following match would be their best one yet.
Authors note: Please review because this is my first fic and I would really like to know how to improve my writing. I also thought about adding more to this story, maybe something before about them picking out rings, or deciding to ask them. I could do something after about wedding planning or the wedding itself. Please let me know what you think because I am not sure where to go with this story. I know that my story is really short, but I wanted to get one done and on my pen name. I love to read fan fiction so if you recently wrote a story and would like me to read it, and then leave the name of it and maybe I will check it out, and leave you a review.
