Chapter Four
Growing Up

Harry thought back to the day that they returned to the Burrow. The ramshackle building hadn’t weathered well, since its abandonment last year. The windows were all gone and it looked like it had been rummaged through several times. Paint pealed away from the walls and foul odours choked them. They collected a few knickknacks that had weathered the family’s departure.

Molly instructed her sons as they let the old wards and supports fall. The building collapsed and they began to spell a new structure in place. Harry and Ginny worked to clear away the debris and Ron and Hermione conjured extra lumber and supports as the rest of the family raised walls and erected a new home. That day, they finished the walls and roof. It was only one story, but there were three large bathrooms, a spacious living area, a large kitchen and dining area, and four bedrooms.

The next day, they finished the constructing the interior of the new home and painted the walls. By the end of the day, everyone was satisfied with their work. With the little money Arthur had set aside, Molly bought new kitchen utilities and basked in the new kitchen. She admired her stainless steel appliances that worked on magic. Her fingers itched to bake with her new stove and fill the icebox with her family’s favourite dishes. Harry was already hinting about a treacle tart.

Harry had tried to convince Molly to let him stay at Grimmauld Place, so he wouldn’t be an inconvenience, but she refused to listen to him. She flat out insisted that he stay with her until he found his own flat with Ron after Auror training. Remus had even begged on Harry’s behalf, but it was futile. Molly firmly believed that Tonks, Remus, and Thadeus needed a new beginning as a new family, and that meant that the Weasleys needed to give them their space. Thadeus wailed in sadness, as the family began to collect their belongings from around Grimmauld Place.

As the days passed, furniture and personal treasures moved into the house with the people to make the house a home. Bill and Fleur found a small cottage near the Burrow and were thrilled that they were starting setting up house. The petite white house was covered in honeysuckle and had a large garden around the back. Fleur was delighted with the charming layout of her new home. There was a nice kitchen and living area. She was pleased with the three bedrooms and loved the finished wine cellar in the basement. It would be easily modifiable and Bill could rest comfortably in the basement during the full moon.

Percy was amazed when the twins helped him air out and clean his long abandoned flat and agreed to help him sublet it as he was returning to Hogwarts as Defence Against the Dark Arts professor. The apartment had grown dusty from disuse but was cleaned and ready to be rented. Percy had hoped to let the lease go and simply live at Hogwarts, but he received several letters from the Ministry asking him to be a consultant for educational politics.

After the gross protest of the educational decrees Delores Umbridge passed, the Ministry was anxious to prove that they had the best interest of the students at heart. With McGonagall’s advice, the Wizengamot offered a position to Junior Member, Percy Weasley. He was thrilled to once again have momentum in his career at the Ministry, but he would never again let it consume him the way it once had. With this turn of events, Percy chose to sublet the apartment throughout the school year and would live in the London flat during the summer to work on educational legislation.

The twins were glad to get out of Grimmauld Place and back to their store. Fred and Roni lived immediately above the store and spent several hours magically enhancing the wards and architecture of the twins’ old flat to be better suited for a newly married couple. After the shop was destroyed, Verity and Fleur worked nearly non-stop to rebuild the structure. They knew that, in time, Diagon Alley would be restored and Weasley Wizards’ Wheezes would reopen. Fleur and Verity had several other stories added to the building, so each brother would have his own flat as well as storage. It was that storage space that the twins were converting into safe houses for the Wizarding Protection Agency.

Fred and Roni were already the gambling favourites to produce the next Weasley grandchild. Though they swore they were going to wait at least until after the end of the next year, every person in the Weasley clan and had a galleon on when the announcement would come. Ginny was disappointed that she lost her galleon when the first of August came and went without the news of a new baby.

When Ginny’s birthday arrived, chaos ensued again. When she woke up that morning, Ginny laughed as she saw what her brothers had done for her. Now that she was a ‘legal’ witch, she could retaliate against their pranks, so being the men that they were, gave her life size cardboard cut outs of each brother and Harry. Each persona wore a white tee shirt that read ‘TARGET PRACTICE’ and had a terrified face frozen on it.

The party had been another smashing success. Dudley and Hagar brought several bottles of fine Muggle wine to the party from the winery where he worked. Remus and Tonks kindly asked her to be Thadeus’ godmother, to which Harry instantly began screaming that she had stolen his godson. Thadeus laughed delightedly when each godparent took an arm and began to play tug-of-war with him.

The twins really out-did themselves with an elaborate fireworks show that evening. Most of the remaining Order members attended the party, and Ginny couldn’t help but laugh at Percy when Penelope Clearwater arrived. He had taken Hermione’s words to heart and swallowed his pride. He had gone to her, swearing that he was sorry and back in the good graces of his family. It was quite evident that she would take him back, but not with out the appropriate amount of grovelling and Percy was at a loss. He tried to go back to her and keep his dignity intact but he would not grovel.

Unfortunately, he was a Weasley and soon the whole family knew about it. The twins were sendung her flowers non-stop. Charlie sent disturbingly sweet love letters and Bill had chocolate delivered to her daily. Not to be outdone, Fleur joined in the fun and sent Penny a gorgeous pair of diamond earrings. Ron and Ginny pretended to know nothing about the whole affair, but when Percy received a Howler about a singing telegram at a family dinner, the youngest Weasleys took a bow as the twins clapped.

They all had a hearty laugh when Percy told them how she stormed into his office, screaming about the four marriage proposals, and he had no clue what she was talking about. Percy knew she was angry that he wasn’t begging to be with her again, but couldn’t help but grin that his brothers were trying to help.

As she made her way into Ginny’s birthday party, Percy watched her quietly. From across the room, they locked eyes but neither moved to the other. Hermione watched their silent exchanges intently, determined to participate in the game. She flicked her wand and soft music swam through the crowd. Quickly everyone partnered up, leaving Percy and Penny quite left out. He awkwardly asked her for the dance and ignored the snickers when they danced together with wide outstretched arms.

It was grossly obvious that they were trying to touch as little as possible, but Percy’s face clearly demonstrated his desire. Trying to be helpful, Harry nodded to Ron, who nodded back. The each spun the girl in their arms. Hermione crashed into Percy’s back, while Ginny fell into Penny, successfully pushing the two into each other’s arms.

Penny tried to pull herself from Percy’s grasp when she saw the dark look in her eyes. As he righted her, she meekly looked around and saw everyone staring at them. Mortified, she yanked away from Percy and ran out to the garden. Pride be damned, Percy ran after her in hot pursuit.

“Penny!” he exclaimed, when he caught her.

She spun in his arms to push away from him, but his eyes trapped her. “Let go of me, Percy,” she whispered.

“I’m sorry,” Percy said, “they’re idiots. I should have done all of that, but I was too stupid.”

Penelope sniffed, “I didn’t want all of that. I just wanted you to show me that you have changed. I wanted to see that if things get bad again you wouldn’t run away from your family again…from me again.”

She raised her chin indignantly and Percy relaxed his grip on her, still holding her close. “When I apologized to my family, at Bill’s wedding, it was the hardest thing I ever had to do. It wasn’t hard because I thought they would turn me away; it was hard because you weren’t there. I should have listened. You were right; they accepted me back,” he ran a frustrated hand through his hair as he tried to explain.

“Ginny nearly knocked me out. Charlie taught her how to punch when she was six, but Mum taught her how to aim. My brothers wouldn’t even give me a chance without Ginny’s nod of approval. Fred and George pranked me so often; I gave up trying to defend myself. Mum and Dad made me degnome, clean, dust, and wash every inch of the Burrow and Grimmauld Place. Bill cursed the chair in my office to imbed splinters in my backside at random intervals and Charlie hexed my shoes to always smell of dragon dung. It would have been nothing, if I had you there supporting me. I’m sorry they embarrassed you, but I didn’t know how to show you I’d changed. The stories about their pranks and payback don’t tell you that. They don’t show you that. How can I prove it to you?” Percy elaborated, resting his chin on her head.

“I don’t know, Percy,” Penny sighed; she really did want to be with him again.

“Penny,” he bit his lip as he caressed her bottom lip with his thumb. “I still love you, with all my heart. Forgive me, please.”

He sounded broken as he begged her. She gazed into his eyes and saw the remorse. Instantly, she realized that he was sincere and nothing would come between them again. She knew that if Percy hadn’t changed, the Weasley’s would do nothing to further his happiness or torture him so. He was staring at her. She watched as his eyes tried to focus on her, but they kept drifting to her lips. She smiled slightly.

“Percy,” she gasped, but was cut off when he kissed her forcefully. Distantly, they heard cheers from the house, but they didn’t care. Her arms laced over his arms and around his shoulders. She smiled into the kiss and held back a groan as she felt his hair between her fingers. His grasp tightened around her waist. Neither pulled away from the embrace, until they were equally dazed, cuddling close together; they whispered to one another. Both were perfectly content to continue their activities, regardless of their audience.

When they finally returned to the party, everyone was holding up a scorecard. Percy laughed at the high marks from his brothers, while Penny giggled at the low marks from Hermione and Ginny.

“I thought he did pretty well!” she exclaimed in his defence.

The crowd roared when she grabbed Percy, dipped him and kissed him passionately. When they stood up, blushing violently, she smirked when everyone had given her a perfect score.

Soon after that Ginny decided to open her presents. She gasped at the dazzling dress robes her mother bought her and thanked Hermione for the copy of The Massive Book about Aurors. The book was nearly the size of Thadeus, who was perched neatly on it for affect, and they quickly shrunk it for the sake of room. The twins gave her the largest box of Wheezes’ products she had ever seen, though her mother scowled. Ron and Charlie had bought her a small, but pretty bracelet and Bill and Fleur gave her a photo album. Ginny thumbed through the pictures of the Lupins, Thadeus, Harry, and her family, smiling as the pictures waved at her.

She grinned when Thadeus tapped her shoulder gently and handed her a little box. She opened it carefully and smiled at the antique locket. It was a plain oval locket, with a thick gold chain. Gingerly, she opened it and sniffed at the two pictures. On the left she saw Thadeus’ smiling face and the right was Harry’s. She laughed as the pictures moved and made funny faces at her, then at each other. Carefully she closed it; she hugged Harry and kissed Thadeus on the cheek for her present and then moved to thank everyone else.

The evening continued well into the night, with food, laughter, and dancing. It had only been a few days since their last party, but finally happy times were ruling. This wasn’t a ‘calm between the storm.’ It was what they had all fought for, peace. Later that night, as the party fizzled, Ginny properly thanked Harry for the locket with a life-altering kiss.

He loved that one kiss could make his fantasies pale in comparison and smiled when he thought about getting to know those kisses all over again when he got back. As the party dwindled, and people said their goodbyes, it became painfully evident that time was running out. Ginny was going back to Hogwarts. Harry and Ron left in two weeks, and it was all Ginny could do to stay focused on the positive.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Harry smirked as Ginny and Molly finished packing his things. They worked busily and quietly in his room, he smiled as he thought about his new home. It was roomy, with plenty of space for the small cot in the corner. Harry was heartbroken when Thadeus found out that he was moving out of Grimmauld Place. Thadeus tried to keep it together, but like a true five year old, began to cry. Harry and Remus desperately worked to keep up the boy’s spirits, but Ginny soon realized that the only way it would really work was for Thadeus to see that Harry wasn’t abandoning him. It was her idea to place the little bed in Harry’s room and it made Thadeus grin knowing he could stay with Harry sometimes.

As Ginny and Molly fluffed Harry’s pillows, he smiled. This was his family. The thought of leaving them for six months hurt his heart. He spent every extra second stealing Ginny away for a date or kidnapping Thadeus for a slumber party. He grinned when he remembered the previous night. Harry’s room had been transformed into a miniature forest and they bought a Muggle tent. Thadeus loved their indoor camping trip and Harry knew it would be hard to say goodbye to his godson for six months.

Spending so much time with Thadeus, made him think of Sirius a great deal. What would his childhood have been like, if Sirius had been there? Would they laugh at each other? Would they still play with each other? Harry was lost in his thoughts and didn’t hear Ginny calling him. He agreed to whatever she had just asked and continued to stare away, distantly.

“Fantastic!” Ginny shouted, finally snapping him out of his reverie.

“What’s that, love?” Harry asked confusedly.

“Harry,” Ginny shook her head. “You just agreed to marry George and let Mum dye your hair neon purple.”

Harry laughed at her requests and pulled her to him. “I’m sorry, Ginny. I haven’t been paying attention to you. Let me take you out to dinner to make up for it?”

Ginny pouted a little but agreed with a wide smile. Ginny quickly insisted that they go someplace romantic and Harry grinned, thinking of a nice Muggle place. While she rushed away to get ready, Harry washed and got dressed. Just moments before he was going to ‘pick up’ Ginny at her bedroom door, a small blond boy collided with his legs.

Harry looked down and smiled. “Hello ‘Deus, what are you doing here?”

Thadeus pulled away from him and looked up. “Mum and Da wanted to know if you wanted to spend the night. Mum is talking to Gram-Molly in the garden.”

A moment later, Ginny came out of her room. She was stunning. She wore a black skirt that was just past her knees and a violet strapless bustier with a black lace overlay. Harry tried to ignore his watering mouth and looked back to his godson.

“I’m sorry; Thadeus, but I promised Ginny that we could have a special night. She and I have a date tonight. I’ll come over tomorrow morning, though. Ron and I don’t leave until the evening,” Harry offered trying to soften the blow.

Thadeus frowned and tried not to cry. It was evident that he didn’t want Harry to leave. Ginny was thrilled that Harry wanted alone time with her, but knew that Harry hated himself right now. She looked at the disappointed boyish face…and then to Thadeus who sniffed heavily.

“Thadeus,” Ginny lowered herself to look into his eyes. “I’ll have Harry home around midnight, why don’t you ask your Mum if we can pick you up late tonight and we’ll stay up all night, no parents?”

Ginny knew that this compromise meant that Harry wouldn’t get much sleep before he left for Auror training, but she also knew that Harry was fighting with himself and trying not to invite Thadeus on their date. Harry beamed at the suggestion and laughed when Thadeus’ face lit up and he dashed to find his mother.

“You’re a goddess, Ginny. You know that, right?” Harry exclaimed as he pulled her too him.

They both laughed when they heard Thadeus shriek with glee as he ran back to them. “Mum, says she wanted Da to herself tonight anyhow!”

Harry laughed again as Tonks came into the kitchen. “Deus, you have to take a nap later so you can stay up and keep an eye on these two,” she said with a wink to Ginny.

Thadeus nodded enthusiastically and ran into Harry’s room, jumped on his cot, and forced his eyes shut. Ginny and Harry said their goodbyes and left for a nice dinner.

They ate at the small winery where Dudley worked. It had a small, private dining room and served excellent food. Harry and Ginny ate and laughed through dinner, trying to avoid the sadness of the upcoming separation. Dudley came to sit with them for a few minutes after his shift ended and the group smiled when Hagar walked in to greet them.

“Dudley,” Hagar reproached, “You’re not intruding on their date are you?”

Harry and Ginny giggled when Dudley blushed, but invited Hagar to join them. The couples quickly updated each other on their lives. Hagar was looking forward to travelling with an upcoming job, and he was hoping to become a manager at the winery soon. Dudley and Hagar loved the stories about Thadeus and Ginny quickly invited them to the slumber party that evening.

Dudley and Hagar agreed to meet them there but wanted some time to get ready and left them to go inform Aunt Petunia and Roni. Harry was pleased with the friendship he and Dudley had developed over the past year. What began as simple respect was turning into a friendship that could last a lifetime.

Knowing that Dudley and Hagar each had a Portkey to the Burrow, Harry and Ginny strolled out of the shop hand in hand. They walked slowly as it was not yet eleven, enjoying their time together. They stopped at a bridge holding each other. They smiled as a warm summer breeze cooled their skin. Harry pulled Ginny into his arms and gently pecked her lips. She whimpered against the light touches and was lost in the sensations as it deepened. They kissed and caressed, knowing that it would be a very long time, before they could enjoy themselves like this again.

They became lost under the other’s touch and gasped when they heard Big Ben clang the midnight hour. With one last kiss, they Disapparated to Grimmauld Place and picked up Thadeus. Tonks told them that he had slept well earlier that day and would likely be up all night. Harry and Ginny smirked as their bouncy godson wiggled out of his mother’s grasp and flung himself into Ginny.

Once the trio arrived back at the Burrow, they laughed when they walked through the door. Molly was already popping popcorn on the stove and making hot chocolate. Hermione and Ron were charming a television in place and magicking it to operate without electricity.

Soon another amazing party was underway, but it was decidedly more juvenile. Hermione had brought Nadia, since Viktor and Natasha had only just returned from their honeymoon. They originally planned to go to Greece for four days, but four became five and five became six. Hermione laughed when they had apologized profusely for imposing on her, but she shook away their regrets. She claimed that as long as she got to baby-sit the next one too, she didn’t care.

Harry and Ron captured the youngsters and took them for a late night fly on their brooms. The kids shrieked madly at the tight twists and turns Harry and Ron performed and laughed when Ginny and Hermione cringed bellow. Dudley and Hagar arrived while Harry and Ron tore through the night sky with the children fast against them. Dudley watched with rapt attention as Harry spun and dove. Hagar laughed with Ginny and Hermione as they heard Nadia and Deus beg to go faster. After the moonlit flight, the group convened in the living room.

They all laughed into the wee hours of the morning, watching movies and playing merrily. Just before sunrise, the children fell fast asleep. Harry smiled at Hermione who was snoozing on the plush sofa. Ron leaned against the couch, with his head resting on her protruding elbow. Harry grinned as he remembered the similar situation after Remus and Tonks got married. The only difference was that Nadia was curled into Ron’s lap, snoring lightly.

Dudley and Hagar were snuggling together much like Luna and Neville had that night. She rested on her chest and he snored lightly. Harry knew that when he got back from Auror training Luna and Neville would have to go out on a date with him and Ginny. He missed his friends, but knew they were getting on well. Neville was still apprenticing with Professor Sprout and, with the help of Slytherin’s gloves, was building an impressive Potions garden. Luna would return to school with Ginny, but she had made it blatantly clear that all she wanted to do was become a mother. Luna may have had unique ideals, but after the sudden passing of her own mother, Luna wanted only to be a great Mum.

Harry’s musings were interrupted by a soft snore from Thadeus. Harry was sprawled out on the floor as he had been that night at Kingsley’s, but Ginny was curled around Thadeus. The little boy slept soundly, sandwiched between his godparents. Harry knew he wouldn’t sleep, so he lay on the floor, lovingly stroking Ginny’s hair. His breath caught when her eyes fluttered open.

They stared at each other. Even with a child between them, even with her hair a mess and in Charlie’s hand-me-down sweats, she still looked dead sexy. He gently laid a hand on Thadeus’ head, and shifted closer to her face.

“Someday, Ginny, I’m going to marry you,” Harry whispered, with promise.

She smiled sleepily and closed her eyes. “Someday, Harry is going to be a very good day.”

He chuckled tiredly and kissed her before succumbing to sleep.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Harry sighed as he watched the family. Thadeus was sitting with Ginny and Tonks. Viktor and Natasha came to say goodbye when they picked up Nadia, and they sat with Molly across the table. Mr. Granger and Ophelia laughed as Ron bounced Maggie on his knee.

Bill and Charlie were making faces behind George’s back trying to get Verity to giggle. George was considered a dying bachelor and now everyone waited, with baited breath, to see which would come first from the twins…a baby or a ring. Verity was well versed with the Weasleys’ antics and grinned. She had her galleon down, to get the ring, sometime on New Year’s Eve. Much to her dismay, Molly said it would be the first of the New Year and everyone was desperate too keep the pool a secret from George.

Harry watched as Hermione and Ron doted on Maggie and Nadia. He hadn’t expected them to be such baby lovers, but maybe it was a good sign for the future. He smiled at the thought; Ron and Hermione would make excellent parents, someday. Roni was laughing away with Tonks and Ginny, but she kept blushing. Whatever Ginny was teasing her about made her change a violent puce and Ginny squealed happily.

The family took notice of her cries and instantly wanted in on the joke.

“Ginny!” Roni hissed to shush her sister-in-law.

Ginny shook her head and stood on her chair. “Fred Weasley!” she exclaimed.

Fred spun to look at Ginny and then at his wife. He rolled his eyes at them both and blushed.

“Go ahead, Ginny,” he said as he crossed his arms over his chest.

Ginny giggled and clapped her hands. “We all owe Mum another galleon.”

The crowd laughingly groaned as Molly jumped up and down, galloping to embrace Roni. Fleur and Roni began to cry as they realized they would be pregnant together. Fred shook his brothers’ hands and laughed when Thadeus loudly asked where babies came from. Everyone giggled when Remus paled, suddenly looking very ill.

“It’s the summer heat!” Molly exclaimed, saving Remus. “I swear something about Weasleys and summer. You girls must be careful,” she warned, gesturing around the room, “I got pregnant with the twins in August! And Ron in early July.”

Fleur blushed, but Roni blanched and said a quick prayer warding off another set of twins. Molly laughed at seeing her distressed.

“Oh Roni, dear, don’t you worry. The genetic trait for twins can only be passed through men. I worry for Ginny though. Every woman in my line has had at least one set of twins,” Molly winked at her daughter.

Ron pointed and laughed at Harry, who blushed and kissed Ginny’s head, regardless. No body heard Reggie slip in and join in the laughter. As the giggles died away, Charlie spotted the new love of his life and screamed out to her.

“So, Craven, have you come to accept one of my many marriage proposals?” He bellowed.

The room quieted when she smiled at him. “No, I’m here to run away with your little brother!”

The family roared again as Ron blushed and held fast to Hermione. Quickly though, the whole family quieted and said their last emotional goodbyes. Reggie made small talk with Roni as she waited to escort Harry and Ron.

Hermione sniffed heavily as Ron handed Maggie to her. He kissed Hermione lightly and simply stared at her. Harry watched them for a moment, remembering how they seemed to be able to communicate without words. The entire time Ron was without his voice, Hermione had always known exactly what he needed to say. Ron ducked his head and kissed her again. He kissed Maggie, then his mother before shaking hands with his brothers and hugging Ginny. He awkwardly shook Mr. Granger’s hand, but smiled when the man wrapped an affectionate arm around him and squeezed him lightly.

Harry kissed Ginny with devilish passion, despite the gagging her brothers supplied. He embraced Tonks and Remus before pulling Thadeus into his arms and held him tightly. “I know she leaves for Hogwarts tomorrow, but when you can, keep an eye out for Ginny. You are responsible to take care of your parents and Gram-Molly. Do you understand?” Harry laughed when Thadeus saluted him, like a good little soldier.

Harry kissed Hermione’s cheek, handed Deus to Tonks, and let Molly bawl on his shoulder for a few moments. Before long, Reggie said it was time to go and with one final look around the room, Harry and Ron let Reggie whisk them away with her special Ministry Portkey.

Harry hoisted his bag over his shoulder and stared at the new place. It was a large clean building, much like the Ministry lobby, but it was empty. No one bustled about or checked them in.

“This is the main hall, boys,” Reggie instructed. “Many of your practical classes will be held here. People will watch and assess your duels to help you improve your technique. Down the first corridor are the classrooms and potions labs. To the left, you will see the door leading to the outdoor fields.”

They walked out through the door and smiled at the warm breeze. They knew that they had their work cut out for them, but it would make the time go by fast. Finally, Reggie showed them to their barracks. They were rather shocked to see that they shared bunk space with both male and female recruits. Thick fabric dividers separated each bunk with minimal privacy. Harry grinned when Hannah ran forward and hugged them both.

Reggie left the new recruits after warning them to be ready for an early wake up call. Hannah helped Harry unpack and make up Ron’s bed. Soon they dissolved into tales of their summer and Harry noticed the two other members sitting on their bunks.

The first was a thin, pale boy. He looked very much like Draco Malfoy, but his eyes were dark. He sat quietly observing the group and seemed entirely uninterested. The second was a curvy girl that could have passed as Harry’s sister. She had coal black hair and bright blue eyes. Her nose was rather pointed and dotted with freckles. Harry stared at her for a moment before he remembered himself.

“Hi, I’m Harry. This is Ron,” he offered a hand, trying to bring them into the conversation.

The girl smiled shyly for a moment before taking his hand. “Morgana Marks, pleasure to meet you. This wayward sap is Malachi. Believe it or not, he’s my brother, twin to be exact.”

Harry and Ron openly stared between the two. Malachi had blond hair; Morgana had black. She had piercing blue eyes, while his were dark. It was like they were the exact opposites. Hannah politely introduced herself to Malachi.

“We have heard of your talents,” Malachi gestured to the three of them, “We are honoured to be teamed with you. And yes, Mr. Potter, we are exact opposites.”

Morgana smirked and swatted her brother’s arm. “In our line, it was prophesized that two would be born, one the positive and one the negative. We would balance the dividing forces in our family and return good magic to our line. Basically, it means that since our family is nearly all Squibs, once we were born we returned magic to our line. We have what is called Telepathic Insight.

“It is a gift that allows us to recognize certain features in a person’s physical stance, expression, and tone of voice. We can almost always know what you are thinking. Seldom do we ever need to speak to one another. When we graduated from Durmstrang, we moved back to England with our grandmother and enrolled in the Auror program.

“Chi wants to be an interrogator and espionage agent; I hope to work on anti-Dark Arts potions. What are your specializations?” Morgana explained quickly and smiled at the other three.

Hannah grinned back, taking an instant liking to this girl. “I intend to work in espionage and criminal apprehension. Ron here is the same, plus marksmanship, leadership, and interrogation. Harry here is going into fieldwork, educator training, and negotiations.”

Harry and Ron stared at her openly surprised that she knew their specializations. She rolled her eyes at them.

“I asked Tonks,” she said answering their questions.

Harry and Ron nodded dumbly and smiled. “I think they are hoping to make a team out of us. With Ron in the lead, Malachi must be the second in command,” Hannah continued.

“You and Harry must be the thugs in the group!” Morgana chimed, grinning when Hannah laughed.

The five friends instantly began to introduce each other to their lives. Harry learned that Malachi was very much a bookworm like Hermione, but beat Ron at chess in five minutes. He was also a father. Apparently, Chi dated a Swedish woman and had a four-month-old baby girl. The child’s mother left him shortly after the girl was born.

Hannah and Morgana became fast friends the moment Morgana realized Hannah smuggled a few Chocolate Frogs into the barracks, and after a few laughs, the group fell asleep, all feeling a little less homesick.
