On your authors note, Tonks does mention her mom in OotP. She mentions her in chapter three The Advance Guard when she goes up to Harry's room to help him pack. She says her mom is better with household spells than she is, and that she can get the socks to fold and everything all neat and tidy.

Molly was way out of line. Harry would never hurt Ginny. It's not fair for her to expect Harry and Ginny to be any different than she was when she was their age.
Author's Response: No, it isn't fair at all, but mothers are like that, arent' they? They (we - I'm a mother myself, thankfully of ADULTS I rarely have to "mother" anymore!) want their kids to have a BETTER life then they had, so they expect better behavior, better grades, better attitudes - or at least hope for such things! Molly's a GOOD mother, but she's also having trouble accepting the fact that her baby's grown up. (I would have the same attitude if such things happened to my daughter when she was Ginny's age, but this is fiction, so I don't have to "mother" Ginny like Molly does, thank goodness!)

Well I am sooo glad that you have update with all your recent chapters so soon. I cheated and read all 18 on your Yahoo website and have been waiting for your postings here so I could see everyone response to this chapter. It surly had some of your Yahoo reviewer's blood boiling!!!
I have to say that I could see where Molly was coming from......I got involved with this guy when I was young and got engaged at 17. I truly believe that if I had a mum that loved and cared for me like Molly does for Ginny, I would have been saved from the pain and embarrassment when everything came crashing down around me. Some would say that "you have to learn from your own mistakes" which I agree because I learnt to become a stronger person but not all experiences are good things to learn from.
I see and agree with Molly. I feel that Harry and Ginny are too young to be looking at something more then what they have. First loves are not always true loves, I know that for a fact.
With say that I think you have out done yourself with this story because it is so far full with love, warmth, laughter and joy with an equal balance of pain, tear, sorrow and learning.
I think the readers should give Molly a break, she is only doing what was in her heart. The readers should place themselves in Molly's shoes and see it from her point of view. I am sure that it is not that easy see your only daughter growing up and smack bang in the middle of the war.
Congratulations on this great story and please keep updating this fantastic story

Author's Response: Thanks for the lovely review! Yup, I had a "first love" at age 18 -- I understand. Fortunatley, we broke up so that we'd be able to finish college (we knew we'd get married too soon if we didn't break up for a while -- then we just became "friends" and then my senior year I met the man I'm still married to 34 years later). Thanks so much for your very thoughtful post!
