I feel silly not catching the Dan Jacobs thing. I knew Dan Rad's middle name was Jacob, just didn't catch that. What thrilled me was the city of Norman, OK that you used. I live about 45 min from Norman so that was really cool. Love the story so far.

I am enjoying this duology immensely, and will continue to do so until I've finished reading it.
I do have one minor quibble though:
In The Refiner's Fire, I'm pretty sure that Wormtail was killed in the battle in France. Yet during the assembly in this chapter, McGonagall says for the students to watch out for him. Sorry if that's been mentioned before; I haven't been reading the reviews--just the story.
Author's Response: Yeah, well, that's one of four real mistakes I made in the series - not too bad considering they total more than a million words!! :)

Okay I just wanted to comment; in the assembly McGonagall says Wormtail is still alive, but didn't Harry kill him when he was attacking Remus in the Battle in France?
Author's Response: Yup, that's one of the three or four real errors in my two novels. JKR has several herself, so I figure it's not so bad that I made a few mistakes, since I don't have professional editors looking over my shoulder and nobody's PAYING me to get this right! LOL! Oh well!!

We’re Toads in the Loo! What the hell?
Author's Response: You don't have to be a "Toad in the Loo" if you don't want to - my Yahoo group came up with that and they're proud of it. It's one of our running gags over there. "Time of Destiny Sulkers and Whiners Club" if you turn it into an acronym becomes "TODS&WC" - a "WC" is a "water closet" which is a bathroom, which in England is a "Loo," hence "Toads in the Loo." I'm designing a logo for them for t-shirt iron-ons (due to popular demand). They, like London Lions t-shirts, will be available for sale once I get them finished.

Yeah, I caught on to that. And, actually, creepily enough, Dan R's middle name is actually James. I think. That's what I think I remmeber from danradcliffe.com. Oh well. I could be wrong, but i distinctivly remember that being quite odd, considering his role as Harry James Potter, son of James Potter;) Great job, I loved the whole spell thing. *cough* child molester *cough* :D hehe. Like those Snape/ Hermione fics. *shudder*
Author's Response: Dan's middle name is Jacob. It was erroneously reported as "James" for a while, but it was corrected when Jenna at DR.com asked him directly what it was and he said "Jacob."

I have one issue with this chapter. At the beginning, when McGonagall is talking about recent animagus, she mentioned Peter Pettigrew. She tell the students to keep their eyes open for a rat with a missing toe (a line she used in the prequel). Issue #1: Peter was no longer missing a finger since Voldie had him chop off his hand to come back. Issue #2: Harry killed Peter the previous year in France. Peter is no longer skulking around. He's pushing up daisies somewhere across the channel. This is a remarkable story otherwise. Bravo!
