Was hoping for either an engagement ring while Harry was at the jewelers or at least Harry asking Arthur for Ginny's hand in marriage, but alas nothing happened in that department. I am really enjoying the Ron/Hermione drama was starting to think you matured Ron too fast and too much.

You have really developed the saint complex JKR developed for Harry, if anybody I've ever met had that happen to their girlfriends like that the perpetrators wouldn't die for a long long time if you know what I mean. Personally, I would prolly spray freon on each part of malfoy then shatter it with a hammer til there was nothing left but I like txreinas second idea also.
Author's Response: I base a lot of Harry's character not only on what JKR wrote but also on my father and my husband. Both of them would want to respond the way you described, but being mature, responsible men, they'd find a way to deal with it that kept them out of jail. So Harry did what he had to to keep the Weasleys - and himself - out of jail and still get justice. What you're talking about is revenge, not justice, and sometimes yeah, it would feel good for a while to get revenge for something like this. But if a truly good person did something that "bad" he would be haunted by it his whole life. I know good men who came close to such behavior in certain circumstances, but they found a better way, and when they talked about it (which was rare), they were always glad they'd chosen the better way. I'm not a kid writing HP stories - I have a long lifetime of experiences that I've used to grow the characters into mature, wise people, the way they should be. Harry isn't "idealized" - he's human with human frailties - but he's also a truly good man, and I've worked hard to show that in my stories.

i'm glad they never went that far with ginny tho. but i don't think azkaban is the best place for them if they keep escaping!

Author's Response: Nope, it wasn't easy to write. And Harry being willing to kill somebody was triggered by his protectiveness for Ginny. Glad you enjoyed the chapter!

I'm thinking of alot of awful things that can be done to Malfoy and his little friends. For starters human pinatas. That's a good one. You can hang them by their necks and beat them with sticks until candy comes out. Or tie them naked to a tree make a hundred small cuts on their skin pour honey all over them and let the ants eat them alive. Oh I hate those jerks.

I don't review often, but felt compelled to here!
You have done many things with Harry's relationships with Ginny and Ron that I absolutely love. Often times in fics where Ginny and Harry date Ron fades into the background. In this story and Refiner's Fire, you made sure to keep Ron has Harry's best friend.
With everything that is happening around them, it is easy to forget that they are still teenagers. I was happy to see in this chapter that you showed that they still can act like kids at time (i.e. "The Weird Sisters ROCK!!!" - Ginny)
Anyway, what I am trying to say, is that I love your characterization (although I'm not fond of Harry's long hair -- but that is a personal preference not a critique).
Also, you handled this chapter and the nature of rape. It is very easy to not get the emotions or the sensitivity right when dealing with something like this. Bravo!
Author's Response: Thank you very much! I wrote the stuff about his hair being long when I first saw Dan Radcliffe with his hair longer for Goblet of Fire. I think Dan looks better with his hair shorter, actually (it was great in PoA), but I understood why the producers would want it longer in GoF (long hair looks more dramatic underwater - I imagine that's why they did it, that or because it's in style for boys his age, I dunno). Anyway, Harry wanted to look different from James so his aunt wouldn't mistake them again. That's the main reason I "grew" his hair out a bit. Glad you like the story, especially the characteriazations! I hate stories that make Ron a stupid git or an unnecessary clown or an angry rival for Harry's spotlight (he's already done that in canon, so he doesn't need to do it anymore - and it's time he grew into the man he can be!) Thanks so much for your lovely review!

I. want. to. kill. malfoy..He. deserves. to. die.! But all in all, great way of Harry's healing abilities, cool! So far, so good is the story :), i'm really enjoying this! Refiner's Fire was great, but now it seems you've developed your writing skills, the story seems like JKR's own work :)! Keep writing please, this is fantastic X-)!
