i like the reference to david and goliath, something that was never really brought up in jks books! i thought rons patronus was a dog? you got ginny's right with the horse! but i wonder what nevilles will be!

Author's Response: You have to remember, Refiner's was written after OotP and BEFORE HBP. As I recall, Ron's Patronus wasn't revealed until HBP - JKR mentioned it first in an interview with the Leaky Cauldron - it wasn't in OOtP. So I made it up, since she had not revealed it at that time.

great idea by making ron the general of dumbledore's army. also an excellent move to make hermione an assistant and ginny to be the leader of the healer squadron. looking forward to seeing them in action and i assume that maybe in later chapters.
good work in hogsmeade as well. the dementors attack, ron being able to almost get his patronus to work and the books from dervish and bangs as well. nice romantic presents from the jewellery shop as well.
can't wait to read further chapters. keep the excellent work up and as usual 10/10

Poor Hermione, she tried but I think her time in Ron's arms was was her success. Rotten Malfoy, what a dirty rat bag. Harry will have every right to blast him after this. An excellent read, thanks for the story so far.

Ooh, I've missed reading this the last few days, but now I can devote some time to it again (well, a bit). This chapter had plenty of action with patronus training, a dementor attack, and, once again, Malfoy and his cronies. I love good action sequences, so this was fun. I'm also intrigued to see what good information they can garner from the books. Nicely done.

Wow this chapter was certainly packed. Wonderful idea giving Ron, Ginny and Hermione task for battle. Used their strenght to their advantage. That's what any great leader would do. Bravo. Also love the battle with the Dementors it was very sweet of that man to give Harry those books hope they can be used for the battle. And there is that band of morons again. Why doesn't Dumbledore just expelled Malfoy already. What's he afraid of Draco's father. Yeah as if.
Author's Response: Dumbledore genuinely loves children and each student is precious to him. He has hopes of reforming Malfoy & Co., although he's enough of a realist to know that's a slim hope. Glad you enjoyed the chapter!

Oh no! Not a cliffhanger! Harry can't be hurt. Looking forward to the next chapter. Hey, I like the idea of the secret love life of Crabbe and Goyle. That was too funny. Interesting that you made Ron's patronus Ursus the Bear. Hmmm!
Author's Response: Oh, yeah, Harry CAN be hurt -- a lot!! Sorry about the cliffie, but the chapter wanted to break there. . .and that's where I broke it! I picture Ron as a rumbling bear-like person from time to time (watch Rupert Grint walk sometime, head bent over, kind of lumbering forward at times -- thats' where I got the idea), so I think the bear was a good choice for his Patronus. Oh, also bears are very protective of their families, and Harry is "family" to Ron, so the protectiveness thing was another reason for choosing the bear (I realize it's female bears who are protective of their cubs, but I just liked the imagry anyway). Glad you liked it!
