Title: Chapter 2
I wonder if Tom in the diary will be able to work out anytning from Ginny's dreams...I cant imagine so, but he might start asking her to ask questions.

This was a nice interlude. I came away with a better understanding of what they were trying to accomplish with their visits, and what challenges they had ahead of them. I really appreciated the way you characterized Remus. McGonagall during fifth year? One has to shudder.

How sad that Lily actually helped Ginny trust more in Riddle.

Title: Chapter 2
Ginny's openness with Tom Riddle contrasts with her earlier distrust of Lily, which confuses me. It seems that Ginny would have been quite trusting given her position as the coddled baby and only girl of the family. Why would she not trust a woman in her dreams and trust Riddle?
Author's Response: Lily was never open with Ginny. When Ginny started questioning who this Lady was, Lily gave very vague answers. Riddle, by contrast, would answer any of Ginny's questions with openess and honesty - or so she thought. In other words, Lily is a bad liar and Riddle is a very good one.
Additionally, growing up with all boys, Ginny feels she understands them better. She probably met some of her older brothers' friends who would have treated her like a little sister, and also, girlfriends. She assumed Fleur wasn't trustworthy - that she was only with Bill because he was handsome. Maybe other girlfriends were like that? And Riddle is a kid still who encourages Ginny to explore the castle or go nightflying or talk about Harry Potter, all things that the adult Lily admonished her for.
Thank you for pointing this out. I will try to rectify this oversight. Manda

Wonder what will be the turning point?
And why can't they tell Remus Sirius is inocent?

Author's Response: It isn't that they can't tell Remus that Sirius is innocent, just that they decide not to. It would have been in James's nature to reveal everything to Remus, but he oculd see that his friend was overwhelmed knowing that he could communicate with his dead friends. Being told of Sirius's innocence may have made Remus decide not to have anything to do with James and Lily. They are more cautious now - maturity, as well as seeing some of their previous gambles backfire. Like visiting Harry and encouraging Ginny to focus her magic early.
