I apologize for not writing earlier; I recently encountered this story, and it took a bit to catch up.
The propaganda spewed forth from the Prophet is quite well done: when reading it, I'm reminded of both _1984_ and _Fahrenheit 451_ -- as well as material from Europe in the 1930s - 1940s.
And while some of the characters may be OoC compared to Canon, those deviations make sense, given the changed circumstances. And really, Owl is *not* Canon Hermione: as she points out, Hermione is who she might aspire to be ... but it's doubtful that she'll get the chance, as she's changed so much.
And I have an idea as to why Ginny has not (yet) crossed over, but I wouldn't want you to even offer any hints, save for what comes naturally in the story. Thus, I won't mention anything more about that here.

There is absolutely no need to apologise. In fact, it is I who should thank you for reading and reviewing!
I actually never intended to, but it doesn't surprise me that you drew a parallel between 1984 and this story, as 1984 is the best book that I've ever read. You may also see some similarities between this story and Citizen Kane. It was never intentional, but seeing as I'm completely fascinated by media manipulation...
Yes, indeed, some are very OOC. But I'm glad that their weirdness makes sense. I do also tend to change Harry, but I'm trying to do it slowly and coherently, as there is no way that he could go from being the white hero he is in canon, to a grey warrior in the blink of an eye. By the time chapter sixteen is done, he will have very much changed. But then again he is going to live through some pretty soul-straining times, soon ;)
Ah, yes. Ginny. As this story is more advanced on ffnet, many people have guessed what is wrong with her. I just ask that you please not try to kill me via modem. It will be solved long before the end!

You know, I like your Hermione ('Owl'), much better than JKR's Hermione. I did trul felt a chill when she said "I live by the sword, Harry, and I used to feel proud knowing that I'd die by the sword."

I am glad to see that this Dumbledore is actually helping Harry to fight. By way of a useless bit of informatiom - my friends and I used to go camping every summer on Inchcailoch, next to Inchmurrin on Loch Lomond. We were known as the "Beer Drinkers".
Author's Response: Yes, he is. Those two will not always see eye to eye, but they will always have a good relationship. I always truly believed that Dumbledore had the best of intentions, no matter how manipulative he may have been. Always thought thta because he knew better, he must have suffered much more than the average person.
Lol, seriously? Personally, I've never been to those isles. I'm pretty infamous around Edinburgh and of course, Keswick.
