This was a rather beautiful chapter and I appreciate how it goes. I think of all the post-Hogwarts fics I have so far read (admittedly that's not many), yours is the truest to their relationship. I forgot to mention this earlier even though I had meant to but I definitely love your Luna as well. She's great!

this was absolutely the best chapter. you write beautifully. i loved the paragraph that begins "He stepped into her arms, and it was sunlight, and timeless." i think you captured what it's like to be in love quite wonderfully. and the end of this chapter is just perfect and sweet. i loved it!

as always, this chapter was great. luna and kreacher comments always put a smile on my face. but the best part for me was this:
"... “Never known you to be afraid of anything before,” she whispered.
Never had anything I couldn’t stand to lose, he thought. Holding her tight, he whispered back. ..."
that´s just beautiful.
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I knew that I needed to write a fic in which H & G finally completed what they'd started to explore in "F Word." I knew I didn't want their first time either to be too idealistic, nor too comical, nor lots of tears and yelling. I wanted it to be something natural and right. But I also wanted to let Harry experience some of the vulnerability that Ginny had been so overwhelmed by back when they first came back together. And Harry... doesn't deal with fear well. At least, not when it isn't right in front of him trying to kill him. :-)

Wow, that ending was beautiful. It actually made my eyes well up a bit. For Harry to confess his fear in that moment...wow. Very intimate, honest and precious. I am enjoying this read, despite everyone...Luna particularly...offering a bit too much information. I'm teasing you a bit here, because I actually love Luna's completely blunt personality. It was a very funny moment. Great job.

In her defense, she wasn't the one who got them on the subject of sex, and of course, once it was broached, why not simply say what needs to be said? Hee!
The last bit with Harry and Ginny is actually where I started this episode; it was the thing that, believe it or not, gave birth to everything else.

Amazing how much unique and vivid detail you pack into such subtle prose, and then you hit us with a whopper like:
"the feeling of her, of all that mysterious flesh that had seemed so frighteningly tantalizing now felt simply natural, and in some way that felt quite marvelous"
So much better than the usual "first time" stories, to say the least. And I like how, along with a future, Harry has acquired just a little more emotional sensitivity while losing his virginity.
If you continue, I will gladly gladly read.

Obviously, the pleasure I taking in writing has to do with finding just the right words to try to convey experiences that don't necessarily have their own vocabulary, if that makes sense; sometimes felicity is on my side... and sometimes it isn't. ;-) In any case, I'm so glad that some of my phrasing resonated!
First-time stories usually miss the whole point, at least in my opinion. It isn't the sex--which from what I've been able to ascertain is generally pretty disappointing. The interesting part of any such story--for me at least--is always going to be about the feelings that moments like this bring up. Which is why I dropped the double-colon Victorian curtain! Whether Harry truly gained sensitivity, or simply found himself pushed past his capacity to damp down his feelings, I couldn't say. But I'm glad that that resonated with you too! Thanks as always for your thoughtful and thought-provoking feedback; and yes, I'll be writing some more of this.
