The Royal Academy of Magic, a group of scientists, archaeologists, and historians, studied all the official and unofficial reports, and questioned various eye-witnesses to the Final Battle. They concluded that Harry Potter did indeed possess the three Deathly Hallows. Therefore, they wrote an official letter to Mr. Potter for permission to examine the three artifacts. They have no idea of their current status. After numerous owls, Harry reluctantly agrees, with some very strict conditions.

(SUPERSEDED - go read the completed version: Decades)
"Dumbledore thought you were the better man to become Master of Death, didn’t he, Potter? Trying to play God, are you boy?"
I could only laugh, "That’s really funny, minister, because I rather thought I was trying to prevent some other fool playing God."

Antidisestablishmentarianism! by Spenser Hemmingway [Reviews - 8]
Someone wants the Deathly Hallows. They want to dissect them, analyze them, place them under a microscope, and to find a simple, scientific explanation for their capabilities. Sometimes even a Wizarding government forgets the source of magic. Surprisingly, Harry and Ginny want to go out of their way to help, once they’ve retrieved the artifacts from their plain-sight hiding places in Diagon Alley. Understand? Well, there is a great deal of misunderstanding that day.
A follow-on to my other Challenge entry “It’s Kind of Fun Doing the Impossible”.

“It’s Kind Of Fun Doing The Impossible” by Spenser Hemmingway [Reviews - 12]
** Winner of Best Security in The Deathly Hallows Challenge ** The difficult Harry and Ginny can do immediately. The impossible will take a few minutes, but it’s a lot more fun. The Royal Academy of Magic has concluded that our favorite couple is in possession of the three Deathly Hallows. Harry and Ginny react to inappropriate steps taken to acquire them, but not in exactly the way you might think. My fiftieth story at Sink Into Your Eyes.
I've posted a companion story to this, Antidisestablishmentarianism!
