I enjoy reading when I have time, mostly SciFi and Fantasy. I also enjoy writing, though when I\'ve done it in the past, it was almost always for myself. I\'m finding fanfiction to be a fun outlet for my inner author.

While I\'ve not completely finished posting all my stories there, you can find almost everything I\'ve written at my FanFiction.net account. I\'ve recently put a somewhat non-SIYE-compliant story there called \"Harry Potter\'s Promise\". (Ginny is a major character, but I\'m not sure it fits on this site, so it won\'t be posted here.)

For some strange reason I got inspired to write an HP fanfic. The first is called \"Choices\". It was to have a sequel, but after some thought, I decided to just add the chapters from the sequel onto the end of \"Choices\". I decided that would make things less confusing. It is 34 chapters long.

After an inspiration one night, I started writing \"To Love Is To Live\". It is a bit different and darker, at least at the beginning. However, this is mostly a Harry/Ginny piece, the other characters are very supporting. It a 12 chapter story (most chapters are fairly long).

I got another inspiration for a different way to look at Harry. It is a post-OotP and alt-HBP. It is about Harry deciding that Dumbledore has made too many mistakes in his life and decides to run away and deal with the war in his own way. It is 20 chapters long, and is titled \"Harry Potter: Rogue\".

I\'ve also put up a one-shot about Harry and Ginny dealing with the aftermath of the war in a different way. See \"His Motivation\".

Next came a story about Harry starting to rebel as a teenager in his 4th year instead of in his 5th year, as in canon. This story is called \"Harry Potter: Unchampion\". It won me a DSTA, of which I\'m very proud. :D I will probably make this a series of one-shots over time. I have the outline of the 2nd one for when I get time to write it. [As of 28-Dec-07 I\'m starting to work on this.]

A mostly fun and fluffy piece that takes place mostly over Harry\'s 4th year came next. It\'s called \"A Friend Indeed\". While I really had fun with this one, there will be no sequel -- sorry.

*** I had a another medium length story titled \"Leave Me Alone\". It is a story where Harry and Ginny split right after Dumbledore\'s funeral at the end of Harry\'s 6th year, he runs away, and it takes Ginny a year to find him and then bring him home to finish the war. My thought was to explore this idea where Harry was not quite as \"stupidly noble\" as JKR paints him, but to make Harry a little more realistic and let him decide that \"he can\'t take it anymore\" after Ginny makes some unwise comments to him. Of course, in the end they would then reunite and live happily ever after. While I feel it is a valid story and something I wanted to explore, I\'ve gotten enough negative feedback, including from an archivist, that I deleted this story from SIYE as of Oct 2007. OTOH, the story is written, and so as I didn\'t want to waste it, it is posted on my FF.net account. Even if it is a steaming pile of \"stuff\" (I don\'t think so, but it is my least favorite story) it\'s still a worthwhile story -- as an example of what not to write if nothing else. :-) So anyone who wants to can read it, because you liked it, just want to see how it ends, or even just want to see what happens when I \"push the writing envelop a little too far\", feel free to go read it. I believe I know what I did wrong with it, and I do plan to \"fix\" it someday. ***

As for future works, I have an \"epic sized\" story on the drafting board along with Unchampion-2. I also have a \"bunny file\" with a number of items in it, and one of these will probably spring forth soon too. So lots more stuff coming. We\'ll see where my exploration as a writer takes me next.

Just because I can do this, :-) I\'ll summarize my feelings on HP#7. Overall, it\'s was my least favorite book of the series. There was so much potential and I feel like it delivered so little. But as I mentioned to someone almost immediately after I had first read the book, it\'s quite possible I don\'t like it just because I\'ve been \"ruined\" by fanfiction. (And maybe also because it didn\'t end the way I would have preferred. :-) I appreciate JKR for her imagination and for sharing her stories with us, but I\'ve come to the conclusion that there are some incredible authors writing fanfiction with fantastic imaginations and the ability to deliver stories I like better. I salute those people and thank them for sharing their imagination, hard work, and time!

I\'m slowly starting to upload my stories to my fanfiction.net account too, including a story or two that won\'t be here on SIYE. I\'m not sure if that will be the permanent \"home\" for all my stories, but I guess it is for now.
