I am addicted. Please keep writing and updating (and hopefully finishing soon). This story is both haunting and satisfying. I must admit that I consider the implications regarding "older" Ginny's end are a bit much, but apart from that this story is marvelous. Long live the Gryffindor Six! Also, I personally would like closure sooner rather than later, so I do hope you're not planning on maintaining this pace for the fully seven year (or longer) arc. That would be unbearable! Keep up the great work.

Author's Response: The worst part is the uncertainty, isn't it? And since that image was drawn from Harry's worst fears, we'll likely never know how accurate it was... the story will continue until teh fight is over, one way or the other...

Excellent chapter! I don't know if I've reviewed this at all, but I've been following the fic for a very long time -- although I lost track of it for a while between March and June. I must say, I'm very impressed with your britpickers. I may not be British, but I've got a childhood friend who's British, and I learned a lot from her. There are discrepancies here and there, but it may just be my overtired mind. If not, what are a few tiny mistakes? :P Your writing is also very impressive -- the fic is obviously well-researched, you've got great ideas that have made me think on the books more than I have in years, and your grammatical errors are basically nonexistent (there's no such thing as no grammatical errors, which I wish wasn't the case). All in all, you've created a wonderful fic -- one that I look forward to eventually finishing.

I love the way you quoted Spiderman when Dumbledore says, " With great power comes great responsibility!". You wouldn't be a Spiderman fan by any chance would you? I love Spiderman too!
I also laughed my head off when you usec the description, "Arse over teakettle!", I thought that was absolutely hilarious.
It's great that Neville's bag of a grandmother is finally getting a taste of her own medicine! Great stuff Matt! Hope you'll update this fantastic story soon!

Your story is ok, though it seems to get more unrealistic the further you take it. My only complaint is that you portray Harry just as JKR does, which means he only thinks he makes the right decisions. He has no faith in others decisions (he did such a bang up job the first time). In all the HP books, much trouble could probably have been avoided if Harry would have just discussed the matters with Dumbledore before hand. Your character is at least consistent with hers. I think the anger you have Harry show Dumbledore is a little unrealistic. I would envision that a Harry that came back in time would be a little more understanding of Dumbledore's good intentions, instead you have your character showing utter contempt which I find hard to believe. You have him hating Dumbledore as much as Snape which is unbelievable. The other thing is, why wouldn't they just destroy Voldemorts ability to get his body back? Why not destroy all the Horcruxes before he can regain his body? I know you have had Sirius out looking for some of them but you don't address that topic much at all.

Author's Response: Your remarks concerning Dumbledore are a little amusing after what was revealed in DH... Harry's anger is coming from the fact that while Dumbledore did mean well when he kept him in the dark and arranged things like he did, the ends his means were working toward all went up in flames in the end. Despite all the maneuvering, all the sacrifices, Voldemort still basically laid waste to Wizarding Britain. He still blames him for that on some levels, and as long as Dumbledore continues to act in ways Harry disagrees with "for the greater good", that buried resentment is going to come out. He may have good intention, but the road to Bristol... er, Hell is paved with those. And he's impatient and annoyed at times with Dumbledore - that's nowhere near the hate he feels for Snape. And Horcruces are not easy to destroy by a long shot. And canon backs me up on this issue as well. But securing them is the first step...

Incredibly fabulous as always.
I LIKE hearing about "our" witches & wizards - JKRowling was very cute when she had the
Salem witches at the Quidditch World Cup. Heck, I'd like to hear about all SORTS of other
countries'/cultures wizards.

My only complaints?
a) Too short :-)
b) it's "MILLICENT" Bulstrode, not "Melissa"
c) the darned update e-mail never reached my inbox!!!

One can always count on you to deliver an amazing chapter. I think your detail and flow is getting better and better. The description of Harry's bogart was heart wrenching - I believe I stopped breathing for a few seconds I was so engrossed in what he was seeing. I love the conversations you have between the six, there's a fierce loyalty building that's better than cannon. You got a smile from me when Harry asked Ginny if she'd made a list yet for his trip to Hogsmeade. Very cute interactions, blending the boy with his future's interest. I'm a glutton for the fluffy stuff but the kids are 12 and 13 in your timeline so I guess I have to wait. There were so many hints of things that might mean more - what was the significance of Neville's apology? What was that spell Harry used to defeat
Voldemort (good thing he "remembered" it)? What could Harry possibly say to Dumbledore to make him believe that Harry's a good guy? Even with as many mistakes as Dumbledore made regarding Harry, I still think Harry would be weaker without Dumbledore's approval, guidance, and understanding. I think t's a bond that would transcend the circumstances you've placed Harry in. As always, I wish you and your family great health and ease so you find lots of spare time to write.

wow i was expecting something pretty intense to open this chapter up with but even i didnt expaect you to push harry so far (of course if that curse whateverr it was works agenst the real dementors as a boogart things could be intresting later on in the year).

Dumbledoors reaction was about what i expected & it was nice to get a small view of some of the consequinces of harys interview though that seams to have speeded thing up a bit in regards to the minestry hogwarts difficultys rather then have any majour changes at least so far & dumbledoore was right the minestry defenatly dont want harry or his frends as there enemy as that could could only help voldermort in his desire to spread discored betwwen the various wizzarding famillys.

loved the coraspondence between nevile & his gran and that one scean iam defenatly lookingforward to (dose hogsmead have any tumbleweed).

On a side note i have to agree with you on the american force in britten as it dose fit that in a crises they help each other out & ive recently come across two other examples of this in fiction one is a book called resuraction day where the cuban missle crises gose nucler & the revers happens ie britten lead a humaniterian opperation to help america recover & the second is the new film 28 weeks later which has a situation simler to the one portrayed in you fic in that british socaty is on it knees & the american millatery come in & help start to gett us back on outr feet.

It's nice to see another chapter in this story. Thanks for sharing!

Oh, the "spider feet" spell was really cool I also like Neville being willing to stand up to his Gran. I guess the next chapter will show us how that works out.

I've just spent the last three weeks rereading this story (at work), so it was such a nice surprise to find an update just when I've reached the end. Perfect timing.

I loved this chapter. Nice Spider-man reference, it made me laugh. But I could see Dumbledore saying that. I'm really worried about that frightening look McGonagall gave Harry. And I love Neville in this. Good of him to stand up to his Gran; I can't believe she's interfering so much.

Thank you so much for updating, and I'll be eagerly anticipating the next chapter!
