I'm sorry, but this is getting absurd. You've spent the past three chapters, and chapters that are extremely long, mind, nearly killing Harry only to have him get nearly healed before he goes and nearly gets himself killed again. Once or maybe twice, would have been acceptable, but he's done this at least four times now. I understand that you want to portray Harry as a selfless character who desires to do anything in his power to aid those around him, but I don't think he is so idiotic as to repeat a process that he knows has utterly undone any healing he has done. He may want to help people, but he knows that his being injured is having negative effects on his friends and, even more importantly, Ginny. He would not want to put them through that pain AGAIN. Also, I simply do not believe that they would simply sit and let him do it again. Hermione or Ron would insist that he not do something like that AGAIN. And Ginny, I think is being entirely too understanding about Harry's plain idiocy. She would have hexed him several times and then petrified him in bed until he was healed or something similar.

Don't get me wrong, in general, your writing is enjoyable and your portrayal of characters is good, but your past three chapters have just been Harry being an idiot. It's not serving any purpose for character development or plot movement, its just sitting in a stasis of Harry's hurt, Harry's healing, Harry's gone and done something stupid again. It's simply too much.

Author's Response: You're in a very tiny minority, then. Most of my readers urged me (while I was still writing this two years ago) to make the chapters longer and longer. And nobody ever said Harry was a genius - just that he's a selfless guy who has this "saving people thing" that makes him make dangerous-to-him decisions. Some people are like that in real life, and many of them NEVER EVER change. That's why I portrayed Harry that way. I've known people who, when faced with some danger to someone else, leaped into whatever the situation was with no thought for the consequences to themselves or others. Harry's like that, and that's why I wrote him that way. Abraxan

With everything that's going on with his life he still wants to help Snape, I don't know it that makes him an extraodrinary person or a completely idiot or both but than I guess that's Harry for you.

Author's Response: HARRY often thinks he's an idiot, but the problem is, he has a huge heart and a truly good soul - not such a bad problem to have, after all! Abraxan

I believe you are determined to put Harry through hell as many times as you can i one chapter. A normal wizard would have died like thrity chapters ago. Then again, Harry ain't normal even by wizard stanards.

Author's Response: Exactly! Harry ISN'T normal by wizard standards, and wizards aren't normal by ours. They're much more resilient than we are when it comes to injuries, etc. Abraxan

phew, it would be a shame for him to die after he got out of his last situation. Please let him have at least one chapter where he doesn't almost die. I promise I'll still read it either way!!!

Author's Response: LOL! Read chapter 34, then! Abraxan

Great chapter. At least Harry doesn't die. That would have been bad. Write more. I would love that. You are a great writer and I think you could even take over J. K. Rowling.

Author's Response: I could even take over JKR? In sales???? From your mouth to God's ear!! I'm working on an original fic that's the first of what I think will be a trilogy (at least) -- I'll post ordering info on here when (not *if*!!! Thinking positively here!) it gets published! Thanks so much for writing! Abraxan

Spectacular as always, Abraxan. Although I think you have a "Lets hurt Harry" Syndrome, despite that you make it very very interesting. Next Chapter ASAP please :D

Author's Response: Nah, it was just part of the "let's tie up the loose ends" stuff that needed to be done. Harry (and I) simply couldn't leave Snape with half a Dark Mark, and it HAD to be a REALLY hard thing to remove, or ANYONE could've done it. Only Harry could do this for Snape. And now it's done. Next chapter coming next week! Abraxan

I LOVE this story more than I can say, as well as The Refiner's Fire. Both stories made me laugh, cry, and go into shock. :) It's so sad to think it's almost over! Your stories are absolutely fantastic; you do an amazing job and put in so much detail!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words! I'm glad you're enjoying my fics! Abraxan

I so enjoy your story but I have to ask, when will Snape give up the hatred for Harry, he has made him a new man and is still being an ass. By now I would think that he would call him Harry.

Author's Response: Snape has been the way he is for many, many decades. It will take him a while to loosen up, but he IS changing, which is a severe shock to his nervous system, believe me! Abraxan

I'm originally from Alabama, but I grew up in Montgomery and escaped some of the lore that's in the more rural places. I wouldn't be surprised if people still believed in stuff like snake-stones. I really like how you utilized it in this story. It really fits.

Author's Response: Thanks a lot! I first heard about them from my SC-bred hubby's family 35 years ago. Glad you liked it! Abraxan

very interesting chapter, I think that I remember you saying that this story was going to be 34 chapters long. I'm sure that your other fans and I wouldn't mind if it went a few more to wrap up the loose ends with the amazing detail in which you write so well. Do you have any plans to write a post hogwarts story? you are an excellent writer and story teller, you plan and execute the details of your story without it being over done to the point of being boring. (a problem with most fanfic writers) Have you written anything other then H.P. stories? I hope that you continue to keep us entertained with your writing, you will be missed if you don't.

Author's Response: Thank you vey much! The only other fanfics I've written were done 16 years ago, and they aren't online (they were fanfics for the Starman TV series starring Robert Hays). I've writtnen a few other things published here and there, but they're not on the web and are now unavailable except for my "how to" on sculpting, "Sculpting 101: A Primer for the Self-taught Artist" which is a really good book, but doesn't have much of a plot, LOL! The loose ends will be tied up "enough" by chapter 34, and other loose ends will be dealt with in the two-part epilog. I don't plan any more HP novels, but may do short stories from time to time when I need to revisit Harry and his friends. I'm currently writing an original novel (not fanfic) aimed at "real life" publication. It's a "hero quest" type of story with two brothers as the heroes, and Merlin is part of this one, too. But in this one, I have him capable of being human for some period of time each day rather than being a phoenix all the time. It's pretty cool so far, and I'm having fun writing it. Its working title is "Star Sons: Childen of Destiny" (I foresee this being a trilogy, at the very least. . .) When (not *if* -- thinking positively here!) "Star Sons" is published, I'll certainly put ordering info on all the sites that host my stories! In the meantime, sign up for alerts so you'll know when I post a short story based on Harry and his friends. Thanks for writing!' Abraxan

Now I know you're only happy when Harry is near death. A hero that has flaws is one thing but you're just plain cruel to him. All kidding aside, this was (again) an excellent chapter. I love how Harry wanted to finish what he started with Snape. He is truly selfless. I love how Ron got ticked off that Harry had done it to himself again. Hopefully Dumbledore can help Harry gain control of his powers again. Excellent job with Voldemort's "last hurrah". I'm glad Harry was able to put Rita in her place. I loved the "zip it" hex. I couldn't help but laugh out loud. Keep up the great work. I anxiously await the next installment on Wednesday.

Author's Response: Dunno how I missed this review -- sorry! Glad you liked the chapter! Yes, Harry really is selfless -- a real hero to the core, bless him! And yes, Ron getting ticked off was totally right here! THIS time, HARRY did it to himself - nobody forced him, as had happened so many times before. Glad you liked the Zip it hex and Voldie's "last hurrah"! I hope you like the next chapter too! Thanks for writing, and I apologize for not responding sooner!! (Well, I WAS in Florida until last night and my internet access was intermittent at best, and I RACED through the reviews trying to get them done in the little free time I had -- but that's probably how I missed this one! Sorry!) Abraxan, who does her best to respond to her reviewers, but is only human (and WAS on VACATION, after all!! LOL!)

i really like your story, you know that, but for now i hope harry and ginny will have no more to suffer, because of zabinis, rita skeeters, dark marks or something like this! it is like in the last chapters, amazing writing and i can´t stop reading....

Author's Response: Don't you enjoy a story that stays exciting until the end???? Don't worry, Harry and Ginny are going to have LOADS of fun in life, and the story IS just about over. . .keep reading! Abraxan
