I assumed that Harry would be able to do the animagus transformation, but five creatures is extraordinary to say the least.

Author's Response: Yeah, that is a bit of overabundance, but since he's on a par with Merlin in power, and Merlin could be a lot of different animals, I went that way. Abraxan

at long last thank you for bringing harry and ginny together. i knew you would and all i had to do was to be patient. excellent chapter and i liked the animagus forms that harry was able to change into as well. phoenix, dragon fly, cat, raven, threstal. sure that there maybe more so i'll patiently wait and see to read about it. everything is running along smoothly in this story and i can't wait for the battles to come as well.

you did an excellent job with regards to hermione teaching harry the subject of mammal-mammal transfiguration and after harry was able to get over the idea of hurting the kitten he mastered it quite easily. can't wait for the quidditch season to begin and for other parts and aspects of the story as well. take care and keep up the writing with your own fantasy novels as well.

with regards to that could you please either tell me here or send me a personal message and tell me what your books are about because i am very curious to know about them.

Author's Response: My books are fantasies, and part of at least a trilogy, possibly a series. You can read a sample chapter at www.whimsyhill.com, where you can also read the story synopsis. Thanks for your interest and your lovely reviews! Abraxan

I just realized my last review sounded as if I was thanking you for giving me a headache. Thanks for the story...the headache is my fault. :)

Author's Response: :) I figured that out. heehee. Abraxan

I just love this story. It keeps getting better as I read. I'm getting a headache from staring at my screen too long. Thanks so much.

Author's Response: Oh, dear, don't stare at the screen so long! Or take some Tylenol before getting back to reading! I'm glad you're enjoying it! Abraxan, sympathetic about the headache

Another great chapter. I don't have much to say on this one so I'll leave it at that.

(P.S. - For some reason SIYE wouldn't let me log in for the longest time (messed with my cookie settings and it let me log in a while after so that could have been the problem...) so now I'm going back and copy-pasting my reviews from Word. Just letting you know in case you were wondering why the times are so close together. I had to do the same thing with a bunch of chapters at the beginning too....)

Author's Response: Don't you just hate when the computer or site argues with you??? I sure do! LOL! Glad you managed to get back on! Abraxan

One thing about this chapter is it had a little bit of everything. I always get a kick out of Harry and Ginny getting together a a couple and liked your version of events. I enjoyed Harry's experience in changing his shapes from a Phoenix to a Thestral. Poor Ron seems to be a little slower in catching on but his lack of jealousy and amazemwnt for his friends is admirable. All things said ( I hope I covered everthing) a great chapter. Thanks again for a super read. 10/10

Author's Response: Wow, another 10/10! Cool beaners! I'm so glad you're enjoying my story! Thanks for writing! Abraxan

I thought wizards could only have one animagus form...anyway great story so far

Author's Response: Glad you're enjoying the story. Merlin is known, in legend, as a shape-shifter who could be a fish, a bird, many things. I've taken this idea and applied it to those who've survived the Refiner's Fire, a disease I made up for this story. Dumbledore, Harry and Merlin are the only known survivors of the Refiner's Fire. All of them are multiple Animagi, because the Refiner's Fire refined the already-amazing power each of them had (each one is known as an extremely powerful wizard without the Refiner's Fire influence), thus making them even more powerful. That's why they can be multiple Animagi if they so choose. Harry is following in Merlin's footsteps in this. I hope you enjoy the rest of the story. Abraxan

I just wanted to make a small comment on the animagus lesson - an animagus transformation is much like the choosing of a wand, the animal form chooses the wizard not the other way around. They are not able to choose what animal the transform into. In human transfiguration that is seperate and different, but when they become an actual animagus they can't choose the animal the will continually change into. Like say McGonagall the form of a cat chose her, she couldn't say have chose to turn into a dog. Human transfiguration however is different because in most cases it's one wizard/witch turning another wizard/witch into an animal. See what I'm saying? The animagus transformation being that way was said by JK Rowling, I'm not saying anything bad, just wanted to let you know. Though I really am enjoying the way your doing things. That's why it's fanfiction right? -- And I don't think they can change into more than one, or atleast it's unmentioned, but that was a veery good chapter, and our imaginations are the limits of fanfictions. Your very good.

Author's Response: JKR doesn't say ANYWHERE *in canon* that the animal form chooses the wizard. I checked this out before writing it this way. I based this stuff on Merlin being able to be a multiple-animal-shape-shifter (since "Animagus" is JKR's word, I can't use it in referring to the Merlin of legend and his transformations). Remember the stories of Merlin training Arthur? Merlin could become a fish, a bird, anything he wanted. That's what I'm writing here, something based on the Merlin legends, since JKR has given us very little in canon in the way of explanation or instruction on the change. I'm glad you can accept the fact that it's okay for me to write my fanfics the way I want. Thanks. Glad you're enjoying it. Abraxan

Cool. I notice that most of his forms are flying creatures. Not a surprise for Harry who belongs in the air. I would want to become a phoenix too. How cool would that be? And being a thestral certainly has its uses. Harry's talk with Ginny was very sweet, and I'm glad that Ginny was wise enough to address the Casey issue. None of that should've gone unsaid. Ron's reaction was priceless. Very nice job.

Author's Response: Thanks! Yes, it's quite natural for Harry to choose flying forms, since he loves flying more than anything in the world except Ginny! :-) Glad you enjoyed the chapter! Abraxan

Er...may i point something out? You mentioned Harry transforming something into a spider monkey right? Well...um....you do realize a spider monkey is a spider and not a monkey right? At least I'm pretty sure it is...never mind it isn't. Anyway great story!

Author's Response: A spider monkey is a small monkey. http://www.honoluluzoo.org/spider_monk ey.htm Abraxan, who does check her facts when writing

So happy that Harry and Ginny are no longer pretending. And that they talked about Casey. It would not be right for Harry to forget her. She was a great person and deserves to be remembered. You handled that brilliantlly. But I loved Harry being stuck as a Phoenix that was very amusing.

Author's Response: Thanks on all counts! And yes, I laughed as I was writing about Harry being stuck - I though it was very funny. Glad you liked it! Abraxan

I really love your story; it's in my favourites, Keep up the good work! By the way, what does Ginny's passwords stand for? (I've been looking for it but can't find it anywhere) 100/10

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm so glad you like it! Ginny's password, "Cat in jumper" came from the HP/CoS film. Harry and the Weasley boys are at the breakfast table when Ginny comes downstairs and asks her mum if where her jumper (sweater) is. Molly replies that it's on the cat (a very whimsical reply, when you think of it). It's not in the books, but I use a lot of flim references in my fics because I came to Harry's world vis the films, THEN the books. Hope that explains it for you! Abraxan
