Fabulous. You know I'm quite keen on the Theodore/Luna ship now because of this fic. You've got a very good handle on the relationships in this story, and as always I love your writing - thank you!

After reading both St. M's and hairy_hen's responses below, it appears I may have been too harsh with my review below. And so I'd like to give a much more pleasant review here. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this chapter. It was just that I had just read several fluff fics, then was glad to see that this fic had been updated so I read it. And so, after restraining myself from lashing out at the other fics, I couldn't hold it in and suddenly I found myself writing what St. M considers to be a flaming review. What do I have against fluff? I guess it's because I'm a guy, and what red-blooded male likes to read fluff? But if hairy_hen, who if I'm not mistaken is a guy, can appreciate fluff to some degree, then who am I to judge against an entire genre? The type of fluff that I see a bit too often is the story where the writer comes up with an excuse to have some sort of dance, then go on and on for several chapters about who's going with whom. But St. Margarets is too talented a writer to resort to this cliche. In fact, I started reading her fics because I know that she wouldn't write such an overly fluffy fic. But because I was in such a bad mood at the time, I wrote such a bad review. Indeed, had I been thinking clearly, I would have commented on the funny R/H scene. Who would have thought that a mere homework planner could be used in such a hilarious scene! And so I eagerly await the next chapter of "Red." St. M tells us to expect the R/H Hogsmeade date, and knowing R/H, I know that it will be funny as well as fluffy. Once again, I apologize, not just to St. M but to all fluff writers. If I am a HP fan then I must accept that fluff is part of the fandom.

Author's Response: Oh, Jim that sugar shock can be hard on the system. I didn't find your review a flame about my story, and whoever alerted the mods probably didn't either. What I think they objected to was the flame on fluff in general - which makes everyone who writes and reads it feel a little self-conscious and defensive. This site has been trying very hard to make writing and reviewing an enjoyable experience. Sometimes even the reviewer will feel flamed if they gushed over something someone else hated. Not to say your review was hateful in the least, actually I thought it was rather amusing and I am still concerned about your dental hygine. :) The thing is - this fluff issue isn't going to go away just because we defend/ others attack. There haven't been any very meaningful discussions about fluff that I have found. So I am going to ask for a writing fluff topic thread at the Sugar Quill - in the Pensieve, which is about writing. Hopefully this will be a good place to air some of these differences. All that being said - the premise for this entire story was sparked last year by a discussion on the first Lucky You thread about "true luv" saving the day. I know this is hard to believe, but there is a substantial group of readers who wouldn't touch fluff with a ten foot pole. Let's face it - the angst writers get all the respect. This story is really my answer to those naysayers - that fluff can be intellectual - can be sophisticated- can be humorous. - but I don't know if my writing skills are up to my ideas. All you readers will have to be the judge of that.

I so enjoyed how Ron got Hermione to go out on a date. He used her own gift against her (well not really against her but you know). The scene with H/G was very sweet, I loved how they compared her mother to her show. It was nice to see them just enjoy each other and have a few hours to themselves. Harry ingenious use of Norbert was very well done. Cheers.

You are the Queen of Fluff and yet there is always more to it than that. There is a depth to your writing which can be missed if you take it at first glance. And what's more I stayed late at work to read this and do the review. I look forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response: Thank you for the review and for staying at work (on labor day, no less). I hope that some of that depth will be a bit more evident by the end of the story - all this fluff really is going somewhere!

Hey, good show. Yeah, the R/H part is great--such an incredibly businesslike way to arrange a date. And so Ron not to make any huge declarations, but just to make a simple request and statement of fact. ("No.") Brilliant! Well, as you probably know by now, I do have a certain weakness for fluff . . . fluff that's done well and not in ridiculous amounts. I think Harry may not have been quite--rugged enough, I don't know. But you definitely showed how their relationship is going to a more serious level, and I like that. Interesting thoughts on R/H at the time of the Yule Brawl--I don't think either of them was at all ready to start anything back then. And Luna and Nott, too, that's interesting as well. WEll, looking forward to the next chapter, with all this nasty gunk all over the place(!) and to hear how Ron's date went. Nicely done. I hear ya on getting weird reviews. Sometimes I just wonder what sort of filth they were smoking at the time. (lol)

Author's Response: Oh dear, Harry wouldn't be happy with me if I made him too girly. He did tell Ginny he was in sweetness overload at one point, so I think he realized it! Tell me more! The R/Hr date comes out in little dribs and drabs from Hermione - our Ron isn't one to gush. (good thing Hermione is so talky)

Really cute chapter. I loved the part where Ron asked Hermione out. It was so natural. Great job, update when you get a chance.

YAY! What a great dose of fluff. It wasn't pointless, though--it fits well with the rest of the story. LOL about the Days of Destiny...the fans have some striking resemblences to another fandom that we're all familiar with. :) Molly's explanation of marriage is the best ever. That could be part of a wedding vow or something. Seriously.

Author's Response: I'm glad you recognized a certain fandom. How many times have they asked JKR what her favorite books were in childhood? Sigh - if I had been in Edinburgh! I'm glad you liked Molly's comment - sometimes when writing you can't tell if you're getting too close to Days of Destiny territory. But if something is true - it's true.

If there is anyone who deserves a bit of fluff in his life, it's our Harry. I'm an angst fan myself, but I still believe Long Live the Fluff. It's necessary, lol. Still, my favorite part of this whole chapter was Ron and hermione arranging their date. Perfect.

oh that's cute. Nice job with the use of homework planners there- very creative and I never woud have thought of it. And as the the h/g fluff, that was cute too. Their relationship is geting more serious.... Anyways, good job on this....I don't know but for some reason I wanna read something that's kinda dramatic....will we be seeing any of that soon? Anyways, it doesn't realy matter anyways, just keep on writing because I'd love to read more of this fic. Good job! --Ray

Author's Response: I know, I have adventure/fluff in my summary - where the heck is the adventure part? It's coming - there have been a lot of "dramatic" things that didn't turn out bad - like Ginny/Pansy feud or the attack at the Three Broomsticks. Not to worry - I just wrote three adventure chapters. By the end of the action sequences I was pining to write some fluff! (which I did) I am writing the last chapter to this story now.

Ron was so brilliant, that's what I have to start with! LoL, I loved how he asked Hermione on a date it was so good, and prefect for each of them! "are we going as friends" "No" LOL! I LOVED it! Fluff is the best, it's the mold that holds a story together! Where would you be without fluff, immediate action right after each other, what a bore you never get to learn about your favorite characters! Fluff rocks, and I must thank you for writing it so well! Splendid job! I can't wait for more!! And the path Norbert made, that's going to be an ice rink the next day, they should do something fun on it! Post some more soon I love it!!!

Author's Response: That's so funny - I never thought of a dragon-made luge run at Hogwats! I agree - fluff makes a story for me.

Okay, as I stated before I usually don't care for fluff. But apparently most of your readers love fluff, and I know you won't stop writing fluff just because hairy_hen and I are the only readers who don't enjoy fluff! The Sugar Quill is still down! For those of you bored senseless, here's a nice trick I know -- the Google cache. For example, since most of you seem to be H/G fans try making a Google search: harry potter ginny weasley site:sugarquill.net Then click on "Cached." You'll find some old threads and possibly even a fic or two. That's all I'll write, since after reading St. M.'s latest chapter, I suddenly have the urge to brush and floss my teeth...

Author's Response: Jim McGuffin - you were duly warned in the author's note. And you are correct as always, I won't stop writing fluff. :) Be sure to rinse well - you only have one set of teeth to gnash while reading fluff and H/G shipping posts. :)

normally i think the R/H stuff is a bit..i dunno..it's not my thing..but i actually really enjoyed that date planning part with them in the chapter! and of course the h/g stuff was excellent too..great chapter, cant wait for more!

OK... I pick through stories for the H/G goodness, but I have to say, that was really a great R/H moment! ON to more improtant moments... loved the Harry and Ginny valentine. Very them. However, the "nature" of a boy Harry's age didn't break free. I am surprised to say the least. ;) The Day of Destiny compared to Molly's love life was VERY SWEET, and I enjoyed hearing about Luna's knight with prefect badge. More H/G please.

Author's Response: I see you noticed the few details that show their relationship is heating up. I'll say no more, except to tell you to watch for your name in the next author's notes. A throw away comment you made a while back, made it into the story! Don't worry - more H/G to come!

I agree with Calliope fully! I love how ron said that he could only remember useless things- i think that i's be just like him then! I like how Harry was actually being sensitive, that was fantastic! amanda

That was wonderful -- no to metnion the best way to ask someone out, ever. This story just makes me...::squee!::

Author's Response: Oh good, I'm glad that moment rang true. I just had to use those homework planners that JKR so thoughtfully provided! :)
