I have to say I find your changes to canon to be very interesting. There have been many soul bond stories but at least you bring something different to the table.
With that said... I do have some concerns:
It seems to me that you are making Harry very dumb for comedic purposes. I won't say you are bashing males in general cause I do not think you are but as far as Harry and Ron go I think you have made them dumber than they were in canon all the while having Ginny and Hermione be more mature and able to grasp things faster. You do it in a way where it comes off silly but to me at least it just comes off annoying.
I always felt Harry and Ginny were equals but it seems here that Harry cannot do anything without the approval of Ginny and he is okay with it. He seems dumber than the Harry we see in canon and to me he seems like he just whines just as much as Ron.
I just hope this is because of their age. Regardless of what Ginny may think even in the wizarding world being 15 is no where near adulthood. Being of age does not necessarily mean you are an adult.

You did a nice job of strolling through the months of March and April, giving us an idea of what was going on in general while not becoming bogged down in minute details. Ginny's appraisal of herself made me smile because I remember doing exactly that around that age and not being very happy about it either; mostly because I didn't want to become my mother!
The birthday scene in the common room is definitely Ron. He certainly hasn't discovered how to be tactful when receiving something that either makes him uncomfortable or reminds him of what a prat he was in the past. I think the scarf did a little bit of both and he opened his mouth and spoke before thinking. Ginny, on the other hand, knew just what to say to get Hermione to feel better. She's definitely a good friend.
All in all a nicely written chapter.

ah poor hermione she is so screwed with ron....as for harry and ginny they are getting better with things but the summer cant happen fast enought for them....an the turnamnet cant end fast enought either....kutgw

Sweet chapter. They are growing up and that is a hard thing to do. I am really enjoying this story and hope to read more soon.
