Ginny is my favourite character, and the only reason I read fanfiction. A story with a Ginny POV therefore is a must-read for me.
I like Ginny's strategy to destroy the Horcruxes earlier and to prevent Voldemort's rebirth. On the other hand, sometimes I had the feeling that Ginny is a little bit too prepossessing and Harry is therefore too passive, which later indeed falls back on her.
Should she have told Harry straight away that they were married in the old timeline? That probably would have been a bit too much for a 12-year-old Harry. Though Harry seemed to be very grown up for a 12-year-old. I fear that there is no proper answer to this problem. I think it was the hardest time for Ginny in this story (1st chapter excluded) … waiting on Harry. I often though by myself “5 Knuts for Harry’s thoughts” … but it is a Ginny POV, why should the reader be wiser as Ginny...
The changes in the time lines have influence the personalities of both, Ginny and Harry, essentially. For the better? I dunno. You’ve already described the changes of the ‘new’ Harry. But I think that Ginny has also changed, in particular during her waiting time. She seems to be more subdued now.
I was curious all the time, when the two of them inaugurate Dumbledore that they know about the prophecy and that the Horcruxes are destroyed (without explaining how they know about those things). I would have liked to see Dumbledore's face when he had heard the keyword Horcrux out of Ginny's or Harry's mouth, lol.
Then there was the matter I was already wondering about in many stories before. Is "No sex before marriage and the first child was born" (OK, it's exaggerated) really an ancient tradition of the wizarding world, or just a message of the author. OK, Ok, I grand you that this issue is much more stressed in other stories. But I'm wondering every time, lol.
Enough ramblings. Otherwise you will think that I did not like the story. The opposite is true. It is already on my favourites list.

I must say, this is by far one of the best Peggy Sues I have ever read on the topic of Harry Potter; that Ginny is the traveler makes it that much more interesting to me, because when Harry goes back, things often play out close to canon, and as you have shown, Ginny has incentive to short-circuit the main plot elements.

As for your story-telling, I applaud you. You manage to make all the characters act believable - even when Hermione shoots down Ron, which actually goes against my preferred relationship choice for her. Additionally, you manage to hold just the right balance between telling us of Ginny's happy ending and needlessly padding the story. While I certainly wouldn't mind more chapters on Harry and Ginny Potters live together, this is at best an idea for a sequel; at worst it is hurtful to your story.

What irked me sometimes while reading, was that while your story is thoroughly spell-checked (and you even know how to spell per se, which, sadly, is something to be mentioned), there are a few instances when something (possibly and active auto-correction routine) changed some of your words. There were a few instances, but the only returning incident I can remember off the cuff is the "because" cropping up when it should be "became".

Now, to be done with my paltry attempt at a review, I bid you goodbye, good sir.

Keep narrating,
Ranma-sensei

great story - although I kinda of missed the old Harry I liked that the new Harry didn't have to fight for his life every year.
Great spin on one of my favorite topics - time travel and I'm an avid Harry/Ginny shipper - and the fact that this story , unlike many others that get abandoned, it made for an all-around great story. Great Job! I was kinda surprised at the fact that Ginny never had to tell anyone else and that Dumblerdore didn't call her out on it but loved your little meeting and how Harry really put him in his place and told him that he would tell him the truth if dumbledore told harry the truth and since we all know that Dumbledore keeping secrets has probably been his biggest folly I was not surprised that it turned out that way in your story.

I truly hate stories where Harry dies, so I was reluctant to read this story. I am so glad I did! It's well-written, has a lots of unusual aspects and is interesting throughout. And Harry and Ginny live happily ever after, always my favorite conclusion. Thanks for creating such a fun read!

I've reviewed a number of times last year when you were first posting it. Have just finished another reading, and with renewed appreciation...as well as seeing that "199" reviews through each of the chapters...I must tell you again how much I enjoy this story and take it to 200 now, although it certainly deserves at least twice as many.

Very well crafted with consistent authenticity.

Thank you.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! A story good enough to re-read is a high compliment to me! :D

I think you have some serious issues with Ron xD. That's my favorite character, so I didn't enjoy this story much...

Author's Response: You're entitled to like the story or not as it strikes you. :) Ron is a very average person and with a number of personality/confidence problems. I just let those come out, like JKR did. Ron is his own worst enemy. Harry is a wonderful person for being so forgiving, but he's also too clingy (from being deprived friendship while living with the Dursleys). Harry should have let Ron's actions have some consequences (like distance then slowly rebuilding the friendship), but Harry never did because he was afraid of losing a friend (because of the Dursleys). Ron abandoned Harry in a major way in books 4 & 7, and didn't do too well in book 6 either. Or that's the way I see it... :)

Fabulous story...very original. I've read one other time traveller story where Ron, Harry and Ginny return, but they are both very different I think it is right that nobody else knew about the time travelling (I was just curious in my last review to see if that was the case) and Harry had some closure with dumbledore when he finally got it all off his chest.

Author's Response: Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I think I've read the story you're referring to, but I can't remember the name.

This was a fantastic, individual and unique variation on a theme. I actualy thought the chapters after the Riddle/Horocrux problem had been solved were the best bits. Well done!

Author's Response: Thanks! I was trying for something a little different. I had never seen an "only Ginny goes back" story before, so I wrote it. :)

This is certainly not your typical HP fanfic, very significantly changed portion based on Ginny POV. Can even be argued that its quite anti-climactic in that you removed a significant portion of Harry vs Voldemort. Personally I'm not convinced fully that Harry turned out the same way...

Was thinking that the Harry angst angle could be milked more since Ginny changed the timeline so significantly haha.... but I'm evil. Overall still a good story. :)

Author's Response: Hi, no, it's not your typical fic because the focus is more on Ginny than on Harry. You are quite correct that Harry did not turn out quite the same way. Ginny even realizes that and says it (I think) twice in the story. However, Harry is mostly the same because that's his basic personality. Ginny helped a few things along, but there are some minor differences.

Yes, the angst part could have more significant, but I don't do major angst. :) But I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway.

This is among the better time travel fics I've read. Truly a joy to read, no spelling/grammar errors I could pick out, and an original concept I haven't seen before.

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. It seemed like an original idea to me. :-)

I truly enjoyed "Ginny Returns." It was excellent in several ways:

1- The plot was original--I've never read a Ginny-only time travel tale before.

2- No one was perfect, unless you mean Draco who was perfectly stupid and bullheaded.

3- You kept all of my favorite characters alive without sacrificing the quality of the plot.

4- While the characters were true to canon in most ways, you further developed them as the plot unfolded. You made them your own. Bravo!

5- You and Wolfs_Scream did a good job on the editorial cleanup. I encountered fewer errors in your story than I normally do in one so long and complex. Most of them were dropped words, lost perhaps in an edit.

So, here's a heartfelt O, and I'm happy to add you to my favorite authors list!

Author's Response: Thank you for the compliment and the details of what you liked. That helps me as a writer.
