This is a great story; however, I was desperately hoping you would change some of the major events (like the death of Sirius), rather than only changing the smaller events. Curious to see whether you end up changing any of the major events from Canon.

I love the way that Harry and Ginny became friends straight after the Chamber because I always thought that in the 3rd book they woukd be friends.
I like the way that Harry and Ginny protect each other and are storonger together in this story.

These two have the best relationship. They can be so many things all at once and still never lose sight of their friendship. It's so cute and yet confusing. They know each other so well it's a bit frightening.

Hey!
I've read the fanfic till this point and finally decided I won't anymore. I've had enough at last. I mean, H&G are terribly out of character, Ginny fluctuates uncontrollably between a Mary Sue and an emotional wreck, and their relationship is just an unrealistic joke. The only reason I did read it until now is the fine language of this story, and I'm so very much thirsty for good language in fics. I'm sorry, but this is just not my piece of cake. Hope you're not offended.
Author's Response: No prob. If you don't like, then I'm sorry but certainly respect your feelings. I would like to say that this is fanfiction -- so if things are a bit unrealistic and if they are out of character...well, then...that's entirely the point. To take JK's characters and expand upon them. It's just a bit of fun. But, life is too short to read fanfiction that you don't like so I completely understand. I hope you find what you're looking for and thanks for the compliment about the language of my story. I'm glad that, even though you don't like the story, you felt enough to leave a review. The story is written well enough. Confused young warriors, I suppose. Can't live with each other, can't live without each other. I have an Aunt and Uncle that have married 5 times ... 3 times to each other.
Chapter 15 reminded me too much of canon, when the HP series went over the cliff and crashed during OOTP.

Well, I think that positive reviews being shorter is pretty much natural. If people dislike something, they're likely to complain at length about their grievances, especially if that thing appears to be controversial or of relatively high popularity.
This is then compounded by people like me, who when they see something they like - such as your fic Need (and Prodigal Daughter) - occasionally pop in to say "Thanks" but don't have any particular suggestions because quite honestly the story is already headed in an enjoyable direction for me. I don't feel the need to try and steer the prose in my favor because it is.
So, as I said, Thanks :) And I like it ;) Etc...

I've been enjoying this story, and I'm not flaming, but this was the weakest chapter so far. It seemed rather rushed and almost entirely based on the movie instead of the book. Especialy confusing was how Fred & George set off the fireworks BEFORE Umbridge became Headmistress. The other teachers didn't help banishing them, but that wouldn't have hurt Umbridge, it would have hurt Dumbledore, who was still headmaster at that time. Isn't that a little weird? I'm sure it was a lot of work to research the books to have your story line follow the plot points, but working from the movie took away from your otherwise engaging story. I look forward to more of your story now that you have no movies to cloud your ideas!

I stopped reading this story after the chapter entitled "The Yule Ball". I left a review and now I'm beginning to feel a little guilty because of all the talk about flaming. I hope my negative review didn't come off as flaming. I usually try to leave reviews that are not hurtful. If I offended you, I'm truly sorry. I was just enjoying the story up to that point, and all of a sudden it felt like the rug was pulled out from under my legs. I guess that I was a little disappointed that I could no longer go on enjoying this story.
As for your writing, keep it up. You have a wonderful imagination, even if I don't always like the plot.

While I am sad that you feel like you can't read it anymore, I was not offended by your comments. Rather, I welcome the feedback -- thanks for caring enough to leave a review in the first place and then leave this one! That was very thoughtful of you. I am sorry the chapter disappointed you in such a dramatic manner; maybe you could give it another go -- Harry and Ginny will get together in the next few chapters (although they will have another fight before then!).

Oh goodness! This was so good its not even funny! Lol but awwww I love how Harry is so freakin protective of Ginny! Its absolutely positively adorable! And oh goodness! Tom went into Ginny too! So he definatley wants her dead just as must as he wants Harry dead, right? Its like sure now... Sirius! I was hoping you'd keep him alive in this story... Maybe having Ginny save him or something! The chapter just flew as I was reading it. While I was a little shocked at the start where you had Harry go out with Cho, especially the way the last chapter ended, I don't have a huge issue with it. I figured a few chapters back that you seem to be sticking to the general framework of of canon, so I fully expect to see Ginny with Dean in the next couple of chapters. I promise I won't grump too much when that occurs.
I did notice that you took the Department of Mysteries scene out of the movie and not the book. I will say that scene was probably the best out of the movie, so I don't have any problem with that.
Anyway, great job again and I can't wait for the next chapter.
