Thank you very much for this fantastic book! I love it!!
The character you created for Ginny is just perfect, and the relationship is unique and very enjoyable to read about.
A pure Harry-Ginny story at it's best!
Again, Thank you!!!

Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica.... Sorry had to get that out of the way The Office is a horrible thing couldn't resist putting that in after I read Battlestar Galactica in you AN. To your story not much so far really. I mean it is well written though a lot of this is JKs it looks like though you have left your self plenty of wiggle room to go off in the AU can't wait to see exactly what you plan on doing. I don't think you are going to go a dark and angst type road but I can only hope.

I have a confession to make, I don't review as much as I should. When I do review however, its because the fic that I have been reading has really evoked some powerful emotions. You definitely have talent. This is by far one of the best fics I have read. I love it!

You have a wonderful writing style and I love how you portray the dynamics between Ginny and Harry.

Upon reading the other reviews, I can see why people would stop reading BUT I think that it's a testament to your writing ability. For those strong emotions to be brought forth speaks a lot about your writing style and ability to involve the reader.

Keep up the amazing work, and I hope that your fast update speed continues.

Awaiting future chapters with a bated breath.

So, I just read what you have written so far in two days. At first I was not reading...Not sure why, I guess because I was mad that there was no update to Prodigal Daughter in months...but after your most recent update to PD, it reminded me of how much I love your writing and I needed more, so I started Need. I just want to say I love it. It is completely different from PD and that is a good thing. The passion between Harry and Ginny is incredible and it is frustrating me to no end waiting for them to throw caution to the wind and start dating and shag already. Either way, now I am forced to waiting for updates, so hopefully they come often, and also, keep the PD coming, That has to be one of my favorite stories ever.

Michael dying was definitely unexpected, as was Harry and Ginny's kiss. I really enjoy this story; only thing is that I find your Harry and Ginny infinitely more frustrating than JKR's originals, despite the fact that I doubt I'll have to wait half so long for them to get together. Anyhow, keep up the good work!

Wow.. I was really liking this story up until halfway through chapter 9..

I thought I'd skim some other revews to see what others thought and I guess there are a lot of opinions out there.

My own thoughts are that while I don't like the violence at the end of chapter 9, it didn't disturb me quite as much as Ginny's attitude to the date. Why is it only Harry's responsibility to say what he feels for Ginny and not vice versa? One minute they're having a wonderful time, and the next Corner swoops in, and because Harry doesn't declare his love then, she decides to.. what? punish him? write him off? What happened to him being her best friend? What happened to all the non-verbal signals he was sending out?

Clearly her feelings aren't strong enough for him if she can do that. As for her whole 'invite me as the last resort' angle, maybe I missed something but didn't he say he'd only asked Cho, and that he'd turned a bunch of other girls down?

I think all of it could be explained as both of them being essentially 'damaged goods' thanks to Voldemort, and young, etc, but that doesn't make it necessarily enjoyable to read. Personally, I hope Corner is out of the picture real soon, and Ginny realises that she was in the wrong more so than Harry was.

I'm seconding nuwnuw; whilst your Harry and Ginny are very different from their canonical counterparts, this is an AU series, and one can't really expect canonical compliancy in characterisations when everything else has changed. It isn't the characterisations in the last two chapters that have been bothering me, or the angst - it's your story's tacit acceptance of Ginny's behaviour at the Ball. It was selfish and uncaring, and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that it's essentially allowed to go unremarked upon. It also makes me uneasy about the future of the story, which so far I have thoroughly enjoyed, because I frankly don't want to see Harry being paired up with a spoiled, willful and thoroughly self-centered brat. and if your Ginny keeps acting in the manner that she has (which seems likely, given that there was no recognition on her part that she ought to have behaved any differently) that seems only too likely.

Well, I have been meaning to review this for a while and now seems like a good point. I wanted to sleep on it before commenting on the last chapter.

You made a very good start in this fic and I was quite enjoying it, but the last two chapters have been disastrous to the plot and the characters.

I have to say that I agree with some of your other reviewers who are upset with the behaviour of both Harry and Ginny in the last two chapters.

I cannot imagine Harry ever hitting a girl in the way he hit Ginny, no matter what the provocation. Harry has been through so much abuse in his life that he would probably be in total shock at one of his friends hitting him like Ginny did. That is the sort of behaviour he expects from the Dursleys not his best friend.

Ginny is not a nice person in this fic at all. She is a spoiled, selfish, spiteful girl who acts like an only child of doting parents who have catered to her every whim, not someone from a loving family raised by Molly and Arthur.

The way she treated Harry was horrible; yes they went as friends, but she went off with Michael without a thought. She then hit him twice in the common room and then completely ignored him waiting for Harry to apologise. What about her apology to him? If she valued her friendship with Harry, which she obviously doesn't in any way, she should have apologised the very next morning, not ignored him.

This is after Harry begged her to go with him and bought her dress. What a sh*t!

In my opinion, an in-character Harry, would not only not have apologised, he would never have talked to her again.

Ginny is just as abusive to Harry as Dudley is, except that she is nastier. Your Ginny belongs with Malfoy, not Harry and that is really saying something.

I am very disappointed with the direction your story has taken and find that the last two chapters have destroyed my empathy with the characters.

I am sorry for the rant here, you are a good writer. You have managed to make us care for the characters which is why some of us, perhaps, are so disappointed with the last two chapters.

In your note in the first chapter, you mentioned that you had modelled Harry and Ginny on two characters in a TV series. I respectfully suggest that perhaps you have modelled them a bit too closely to the point where Harry and Ginny don't really exist any more.

Best of luck with your future writing.
