I get where they are coming from but they are not thinking clearly and allowing harry and Ginny a way to have them look at what’s going on...Molly thought really screwed up....kutgw

Never could figure where it was to be honest, but third floor sounds right.. first is too far away from most the students.
Anyway what a mess this must be soul bond stuff.. I don't see Molly ever going as far as she did.. but I hope she is alright.. I can't help but feel sorry for Harry... wish it hadn't been like this.

This is a crazy powerful chapter. You've managed to evoke a ton of emotion with your words, so great job. I feel the frustration that Harry and Ginny feel, the anger and fear and desperation. It's a difficult thing for an author to make the reader feel his intended emotions, but you've managed to not only to it in this chapter, but do it as expertly as in any story I've ever read.

Kudos to you. Thanks for the great story!

That was an awesome chapter. What was supposed to be a happy family affair escalated into a massive confrontation. Very well written.

that is so sad. i just got back from a retreat where all you do is cry about stuff, and so now im super sensative right now and this did not help lol. GREAT chapter

Author's Response: I'm afraid that was pretty much the point. I'm glad you liked it anyway.

Great story, great chapter. Oh my god that seems so Molly like with her over portectivness but also so Un Molly like with her treatment to Harry. I always thought Bill was a bit smarter, hmm guess this was one of his bad days. This was incredible writing and had me on suspense throughout the whole chapter. Also with your authors note you said you moved the hospital wing and so did JKR, let me just say if you didn't say that I wouldn't have know that you or JKR did it, I always forget where it is. Once again great chapter.

Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter. It was very hard to write, to be honest.

oh bugger. You have an amazing style and flow for writing and I can just picture everything. its perfect. except i have a ton of work to do and i told myself i would get back to work once i finished this chapter. and its a cliffy. great. this was a terrible time for me to find this sotry. i am doomed to fail biology. ala.s,. a small price to pay for good fanfiction.

Author's Response: Yeesh. That was a bad place to have to stop, wasn't it? I hope that biology comes out alright.

i like the issue that has really raised it's head in this chapter and which will, i think, need to be a big thing for them, that they will have to control their emotions in order to really, well, ultimately, to really fight voldemort i guess or to have realy mastery over their powers.

and the ending...wow...i'm just wondering how you'll fill the next 6 years (no pressure of course) cause you've already used some great stuff.

Author's Response: I have to admit that that is one of the bigger 'tension' scenes in the series, but don't worry... there are more!

Whoa. I had to sit back and think about this chapter for a bit. I can see a very clear progression for Molly from the meeting with Dumbledore to Fawkes refusing to attend her. My initial impression was "Man oh man! Sovran must really hate the character Molly Weasley!" But I have a 10 year old son, and a 13 year old daughter. I could not imagine my son involved in something as bizarre and distrubing as the "One Bond" (for lack of a better term). And my daughter, sleeping with some boy who I know only by allegory, doing what Ginny is doing? Shudder. I understand completely how you are portraying Molly; so no, I don't think you hate the character Molly Weasley.

In canon Molly and Ginny are actually very similar. You have carried that trait over to your story. Molly is prepared to fight anyone to the death to protect her daughter, who she loves without condition.
Ginny is prepared to fight anyone to the death to protect herself/Harry (is there any difference in your universe?), who she loves without condition.

A number of reviewers have commented on chapter 1. Yeah, my initial thought after reading it was was "huh"? My next thought was you must have enjoyed the opening verses to the Gospel of John. You seem to frame your story's premise in the same Hellenic philosophical and theological format. If someone is this far along in your story and not reread chapter 1, they ought to do so. That lead to a very distinct "OH!" moment.

Looking forward to continuing the ride you have me on.

R/Chatmandu

Author's Response: One Bond to rule them all....
Sorry, got confused there for a moment.
I love Molly. She's not perfect, but she represents many good things, and she is definitely her daughter's mother.
I thought long and hard about the prologue. I wasn't sure if I should post it at the beginning of part one, the end of part one, or the end of the entire series. In the end I decided to put it first, so that later on things might make more sense. I'm very glad to see that that worked the way I intended.
Thanks very much for reading and leaving such a thoughtful review.

Escape: instead of pulling a dangerous stunt like droping from the ground, they could just have waited a minute. Harry could have reached a safe place and transported Ginny there...

Author's Response: I'm not completely sure I understand, but I think you're referring to their flight from Snape in the forest. If so, they probably could have done that, but didn't think about it in their haste. Nobody's perfect, after all. Thanks for reading.

Author's Response: My apologies... I saw this review as a set of others for chapter 17, and only later did I realize that it was for chapter 14. The key was that they didn't have a minute to wait. The minute Molly got to the gates and outside the wards, she would have been able to apparate away with Ginny, thus starting the cycle all over again. Yes, they could have let that happen to buy some time for Harry to go somewhere, but their main problem was that they were out of ideas for safe places.

I just finished reading your story in one go and I'm kind of stunned right now. What an intense chapter. I think you've written the most insensitive present in the whole of HP fanfiction. I hope Molly'll realize how very cruel that was.

Author's Response: That's an odd award, but I'll take it. Is there a plaque or something?
Thanks for reading!

Absolutely Awesome Chapter and I am excitedly waiting for more. Now for my take on what will happen... HarryGinny will use the bracelet and project their thoughts on to the Weasley's cause McGonagall never said they were specifically made for her so they know what HarryGinny are feeling... well they are my thoughts at least and could be completely wrong. Keep up the great work.. oh and for the chapter a perfect 10

I've read several of the reviews for this chapter and I think that most of the people who have responded negatively about Molly tackling Harry just don't have kids of their own. The simple fact is, no matter what, if someone were running off with your child, it doesn't really matter who, now...it could be the mother Theresa fo Calcutta, YOU would do everything in your power to stop that person. This is especially true for mothers. Harry being injured was incidental, the goal was to 'save' Ginny and at that point all rational thinking had ceased. Plain and simple. Some of the worst/most vicious animal attacks on humans were when the offspring of the attacking animal were perceived to have been threatened. This is perfectly understandable and actually, the most likely way an overprotective^2, Molly Weasley would reaact--like a mother bear seeing her cub threatened.

~*~

OK, now on to the rest of the review...

Compelling story...there is only one problem with it. IT ISN'T FINISHED, YET!!!

I've avoided reading this story for a while, because when I first spotted it, there wasn't much of it up and I thought it was interesting and had great potential. I'm not disappointed there. There is absolutely nothing technically wrong with it either...from a purely technical point, I have seen professional, published works with more wrong. Characterizations are very good, including, Daffydd. That has to be one, if not the best, interpretation of that particular character in all of fandom. So what, is my problem?

I have to sit and wait, for each new chapter. This story should be enjoyed in its entirety ...because it is that damn good!!!

Dang...the rating box only goes to ten...

Author's Response: Hasn't anyone told you that it's not nice to make the author blush?
Sorry to make you wait. There are things I'm eager to get to, so I understand the feeling, but I'd hate to shortchange everything between now and, err . . . then.
Thanks for reading!

In regards to what "whatareyouevensaying" asked, I use Live Bookmarks (a Firefox thing, akin to RSS feeds, I think). Every evening I check the bookmark, seeing a list of every story updated - up to about 5 min ago. So it is always displaying the ~30 most recently updated stories. That's usually enough to go back 1-3 days in terms of updates. If a new chapter shows up, I know about it as soon as I check the bookmark, and often I check it twice a day.

I don't know if IE has a live bookmark style thing or not, as I have not used that browser in about 2-3 years now. Too many bugs, too many viruses, too poor performance / options compared to FireFox.

As for the story, I continue to look forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response: I continue preparing it. =)

That's it? I was hoping that the story was much further along. You have written about the only fanfic I have read where Bill is a fool and a prat. You've done this while making Ron less of a prat than JK.

Author's Response: Ron has his moments. So does Bill, for that matter.

This is quite possibly the greatest piece of fanfiction I've ever read. I can't think of any praise greater than that, but if I could, I'd type it here as well. I'm a bit curious as to whether or not you've got this story posted elsewhere, because this site doesn't have chapter alerts to my knowledge, which is a bit annoying.

Looking forward to your next update.

Author's Response: This is the only place MoO is posted for now. We do have chapter alerts, though. If you log in, then click on 'Account Info' at the right-hand end of the top menu, there's an option for 'Edit Personal Information'. On that page, there's a check-box for "Send me an e-mail alert when one of my favorites is updated." That'll get chapter alerts sent to the email address you have on file with your account.
Aside from all that, thank you very much for the wonderful compliment. It doesn't get much better than that.
Thanks for reading.
