I don't think Harry would be in any shape to do anything after suffering all those injuries...arm ripped off, arm cut off, run through the midsection with a sword. He'd be in shock and would have bled out in minutes. You kind of lost me there trying to suspend belief for all that. Also...
he knew that and his demise would leave Voldemort unmatched and virtually untouchable
Why? Wasn't he the last Horcrux? LV would be mortal and vulnerable to death with Harry dead. As long as his body (the vessel) was destroyed, so would the Horcrux. As in DH, Harry willingly went to die so LV could be killed. Why would he be untouchable in this story with Harry gone?

Alright, for starters the first thing I loved about this chapter is that the language was absolutely beautiful and the descriptive imagery was lovely to read and take in. We've all been waiting for this exciting climax since chapter one and I must say I was not at all disappointed. Even though I feel Harry suffered a little too much and with bit more gore than I really like, but it made for an epic scene and highly anticipated moment that surpassed my expectations. It was sweet for Tonks to have her baby now, during this time of chaos, destruction, and death, because Jacob represents the beginning that they're all fighting for. Also, Hermione getting hurt and leaving the battle, while I'm not sure why it was necessary, was well done, thank god you didn't kill her. Harry's internal commentary was very enjoyable, especially when he was preparing himself to kill Voldemort and when he finally fell on the sword. Great job!
Miss Radcliffe~

Author's Response: I've been waiting for this point forever too and I can tell you that it was such a big relief to finall get it written. And Hermione was taken away and then Ron in the next chapter because I wanted it to be Ginny and Harry at the end and have Ron and Hermione's reactions seperate...which will be in the coming chapters.

What the heck?? THis can not be the end.. what happens!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please tell me it is not done.. that would be cruel... good story..Really liked it until now!

Author's Response: Don't worry--it's not over. I'm cruel and unusually mean--but not that mean. Hang on!

The battle scene was very well done. Rather extreme method for getting rid of the Dark Mark! The part that really made me wince was when Harry’s prosthetic arm was ripped off, that was just horrific. The horcrux tempting him to not kill Voldemort or himself was also very wrenching—poor Harry was battling not only physically but also mentally and emotionally. Harry's sacrifice was perfect, it fit his character and comes from the "power the Dark Lord knows not".

I’m so glad you had Ron present at the end of the battle, giving Harry the encouragement and strength he needed. It was disappointing that Hermione wasn’t there for him too since it’s been the Trio getting through tough times together for so long. Maybe it’s good she wasn’t there, as it seems like you’re killing off not only Harry and Voldemort but almost everyone in the Death Chamber. (Of course the operative phrase is “seems like”—that’s what cliff hangers are all about, right?)

I also enjoyed that Hermione had to wear an oxygen mask and didn’t want to—bit of a pay-back for the times she fussed at Harry to wear one during his accident convalescence.

You never cease to amaze and astound. This was a phenomenal chapter, and I absolutely loved the ending of the duel. I mean, I'm a sucker for hurt!heroic!Harry any day, but this was beautiful as well, and strange and unbelievable. I only just now finally got around to reading it, and it was well worth the wait. This entire story has been a thrill, and although I'm sad that it is coming to an end so soon (I'm guessing maybe one or two more chapters?) I'm sure it will end satisfactorily, and that's really all I can ask for, isn't it?

Author's Response: I'm thinking there will be probably be a few more chapters--your guess is good (I think you can guess I'm not gonna give that away so easily lol)) thanks!

Wow...that was...wow...

You certainly put JKRs "Expelliarmus""AvadaKedavra" to shame!

Huh, I clearly remember you promicing some sort of break for Harry, but i ain't seeing any at the moment. *prays for the impossible/unlikely happy ending*

:D. Fantastic, really. That was probably the best final battle scene I have read in a very long time, if ever. And I love how Harry decided to lean into the sword, rather than be stabbed by Voldemort. The outcome is the same, of course, but in his last act, Harry showed just how very different he and Tom Riddle are.

"Goodbye, Tom," Harry said confidently at last, without hesitancy or extra thought.

*shivers*

Author's Response: Yeah...I think i can say I trumped the rebounding spells of JK...not to say that it wasn't great and fitting for her end. But we do things bigger and more dramatic here in Normalcy lol. And keep on praying for the happy ending and i'll keeping thinking about it lol. (No...I already know what is gonna happen) Thanks again!

Huh. I don't know what I think about this.

I knew that Harry wouldn't kill a defenseless Voldemort. But should he have just done it when Voldy lost the sword? I don't know. Voldemort didn't have his weapon, but if Harry hadn't started thinking, it would seem that Harry just won fair and square. But then he would still have the Horcrux inside of him and no matter what he told himself, it would always be there, haunting him.

However, Harry losing both arms? I definitely feel that unnecessary. I really thought Harry was done suffering like that. Most of the things that have happened to him have been cruel, too cruel.

But I can't help thinking that it's going to be all right in the end. There are many avenues you can take with the veil. I really don't know what you're going to do, but I think Harry is going to be just fine in the end both because of the Horcrux and the veil. At least this is what I'm hoping for. But no matter what I'm very proud of Harry. He was strong and brave and able to do the right thing.

I can't wait to find out what happens.

Jen

Author's Response: I know...taking his other arm was cruel and it took me forever to decide whether to really do it...but I do like to torture Harry so....lol Thanks and keep reading!

As if this story wasn't intense enough, I had a 4 hour power failure just as I was reading the sword fight!!! I liked how you volleyed the success or failure of this fight back and forth between H and V. Using the sword of G.G. was fitting as it was also a significant part of Harry's past. If there is hope for H, I hope it might come from the fact he sacrificed himself on that very sword. Was Harry's inner voice that questioned his need to kill himself after killing V really that part of Voldemort in Harry's head that was used to control Harry while he was a death eater? Or am I reading too much into that? I was happy that you removed Hermione from the final battle. Harry's horrific death was not a scene that she could live with in her head, for the rest of her life. Once the story reached the part of V spearing Harry, I could actually see the scene as if in slow motion. JKR made a big issue of the veil in her story but never followed up with it's significance but you used it nicely here. The voices in the original book were never explained but I was happy to see you used them to calm Harry and helped him accept his death. Also, was the blinding white light that engulfed H and V plus the shaking of the death chamber supposed to be the power struggle of Light vs Dark? As I stated in my first review I felt this chaper was superb, magnificently written with impressive detail. I sat looking at the screen for a long time just thinking about this chapter. I know you have written Harry into a horrific life but I am holding out hope that all may not be lost for our beloved hero. There is still so much to be written following the aftermath of the battle. Just how will Ginny receive this news??? And what regrets will Ron, Hermione, Remus, the Weasley's and the rest of the wizarding world have regarding Harry's fall. I do hate waiting for the resolution of great cliff hangers but they are what make me return to your story as well. Plus I learn the art of patience as we know you too have a life separate of this wonderful story. Waiting on pins and needles.

Author's Response: All of your musings are very interesting lol. And yes...it was the Voldy part of Harry inside of him that caused him to second guess himself. And your correct about the light sort of being the light and dark battling against one another. Harry was closest to those he's loved and lost through the veil and they were there to help him. Thanks!

All right, this is getting ridiculous...Cliffs of Insanity, type thing. This story has been a series of ever steepening cliff hangers. Please, just one chapter that doesn't end in a cliffie?

Chapters that end in cliff hangers are fine in a finished work, or one where the writing is mostly done and a reasonable (like weekly) update schedule exists, but in a story that has such an irregular update schedule as this, it is a little more than annoying. I had waited as long as possible to even start the story, but the last few chapters have been very annoying, in that waiting for what is next was rather long at times. There comes a point when all the ''cutesy' attempts to cover the fact that you, dear author are a sadist, becomes more annoying than the cliff hangers, If you are going to do it, just do it. No notes. No notes explaining why there are no notes...just do it. Don't drag it out.

OK...now that the rant is done.

Good chapter. The battle was interesting. but really? Tom giving up his wand to switch to blades? He had to have something up his sleeve, so to speak...a dagger maybe? Yeah, I could see him being arrogant enough to actually think that the blade would intimidate Harry, but to actually have Harry quietly submit to it? Riiiiight....

And it seems that, even though Tommy was aware that Harry was a Horcrux and that he'd been hunting them, that he forgot the little fact that he'd be a smidgen more vulnerable once Harry was gone.

On another note...there is one 'technical' error. Where Harry is musing about his minor injuries, you have him thinking about leaving 'her' tonight...shouldn't that be 'here'?

Author's Response: There was really no good place for me to cut this chapter short. What would have been included and is coming up in the next chapter would have left just as big of a cliff as this chapter. So sorry. Thanks for reading!

ACK! The cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers! Oh, now that's just cruel. :-)

Fabulous chapter--nice to see the priori incantanum scenes tied into Voldy's end (he is gone, right? I know, I know...we have to wait to find out). And the explosion pulls in the fight at the Ministry in OOTP nicely, plus the veil...having elements from previous fights together.makes the scene feel like a really plausible alternative ending. Anxiously awaiting more...

Author's Response: Yes...you'll have to wait to find out lol. I was kinda dissapointed when Jo didn't have any more to do with the veil in DH...but it was always gonna play a part in my story. Thanks! and hang on!
