The scene with harry and voldemort with diggory on the floor is a bit like when anakin goes to the "dark side of the force" in the third star wars film! good chapter tho!

Reviewer: annep Signed Date: 2008.03.14 - 02:59AM Title: Chapter 50:We are Nowhere, and It's Now

The best part of the chapter was the whole opening scene, with Harry struggling to come forward, resisting Voldemort, and Diggory's encouragement. Harry is now the same age that Cedric was when he was murdered and Amos' compassion was so moving.

Seeing how the horcrux is having trouble keeping real Harry at bay, it seems that Voldemort is playing with fire by keeping Harry as his apprentice rather than just immobilizing him. By having DE Harry seen by some of the wizarding public, Voldemort is winning on the psychological warfare front, but seems like it would be smarter to keep Harry locked up and have a polyjuiced DE (using Harry's hair in the potion) going out on attacks. Of course that wouldn't cause nearly so much anguish for our hero....

Author's Response: You know, it really even didn't occur to me that Harry was Cedric's age at his death. But it does add to that when pointed out. Yes, keeping harry locked up would seem to be the thing to do to prevent the struggle in him from causing problems. But I think deep down inside, Voldemort knows he really can't keep Harry tied up and help up against his will. And it makes for a better story to have Harry walking about....lol Thanks!

oh my goodness I do hope it is soon! pins and needles, pins and needles!

Author's Response: I'm pretty far along in the next chapter. I've had a real good few days of writing, so I expect the next chapter by the middle of next week.

Oh thank goodness

For some reason i though you were going to do something to hagrid in this chapter

dont ask me why

but i was extremely stressed about it.

The snape reunion was very well done. Congrats on making it different from Jo's version, but still totally believable.

I'm so excited about the H/G reunion!

Nicely done! And hope you're doing well.

Author's Response: I don't think I could ever do something to Hagrid. It would be almost as bad as what Jo did to Remus and Tonks in book 7. But sadly, Hagrid hasn't factored in much in my book...though he's not totally done for my story now. Thanks!

Hey, I may live in bear country, but I was born and raised a Pack. My parents were born in dairy country and they've raised me well in that aspect. I've put up with seventeen years of abuse from my peers so it was nice to have something to cheer about this year. I just hope we at least break 500 next year. ~Jeff~

Long live Brett Farve! Truly the greatest quarterback in the history of Football! I live about forty-five minutes south of Chicago, but you wouldn't believe the number of Pack's in my school. We had over a dozen kids wearing Farve jersey's monday in honor of him. I'm praying he'll come back (though I know there's only a snowballs chance in hell) but if he doesn't, I'm curious as to how Rodger's does as fulltime quarterback. Great chapter and once again: Long live Brett Farve! ~Jeff~

Author's Response: Thanks for the kind words on Favre, even though you do come from Bear country...hehe.

Wow, I loved this chapter! It was awesome!! I loved Amos' part in this chapter. I thought it was perfect and helped bring Harry again. I really wish Amos wasn't under the Imperios because I want so badly for him to go and tell everyone that Harry is being controlled by Voldemort. I really think Amos realized that here. And, my absolute favourite part in this whole chapter was... When Amos put his hand on Harry's shoulder. It meant so much. I think it showed that Amos really recognized that Harry wasn't Harry and that he understood that. Great job there.

Also, I loved Harry attacking Voldemort... It showed the old Harry. And, now, I no longer hate Snape. Lol. I'm so glad Snape is trying to help Harry and I hope he does... I remember when Harry destroyed the Cup, and I knew that something of Harry was gone... I just hope that when Harry returns, the old Harry, that he can control himself more...

I also really liked Snape's description of Ginny possibly dying... I think it really got through to Ginny. However, Snape's tone made me curios. Maybe I'm looking into it too much, but, I think Snape was thinking less of Harry and more of him, when Lily died, I could see, in this part, Snape describing Lily, after she died and how he felt, even though Lily died differently. But, I may just be looking into this too much... Lol.

I can't wait for the next chapter!! I hope it comes soon!! :) I loved this one as well!! Yay for a Harry/Ginny reunion!!!!!!!!!! :) I can't wait for that!!!

Brilliant job!
Xx-Ginny-xX (Hehe, this is a shorter review than last time! :p)

Author's Response: Yes, the old Harry is still hanging in there fighting and it's the little things that are triggering him and brining him forward. And although he is continuing to break through, there is still a lot of confusion and darkness he has to break through. And yeah, I hated Snape less to after this, so i'm glad the feeling is mutual. And about the whole Lily/Snape thing...I assure you that he is not or has not ever been in love with her. Sorry...I differ from JK there! Thanks!

i was sad to see the chapter was relatively short, but i'm always so delighted to see the mail that you've updated. The pacing of the story is good, i guess, but i'm so impatient always to read what comes next. Give update asap please!

Author's Response: I know this chapter was short compared to my last few, but I didn't feel like much else was needed in it. And hopefully this next chapter won't take so long to get out. Thanks!

So sorry to hear of your, er, loss, but a friend who lives in your area assures me that life eventually looks good again...LOL! Wonderful to see the story back, and quite a relief to see some light at the end of Harry's tunnel. The description of the battle in his head was riveting, but I think my favorite part was the pat on the back from Amos Diggory, suggesting that even some people harmed by the DE will recognize Harry's involuntary behavior for what it is. Can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Yeah...it looks grim if you're a GB Packer fan, especially since I live like 35 miles away, but we will eventually move on. But for now, we'll cry and remember! And I'm glad you picked up on Diggory's gesture, I think it would be plain for anyone in the room to see that Harry wasn't acting under his own volition.

Oh, I can't wait for the HG reunion. I'm so excited!

This was a good chapter. We get to see Harry coming back. It was unfortunate that Amos was captured, but thanks to him, we were able to see Harry struggle to regain control. And if Amos were to be taken off the imperius he would be able to vouch for Harry since he saw him fight against Voldemort.

This chapter was really great for me because I remember how upset I was when he lost his self control destroying Hufflepuff's cup. I feel that, while he may not be able to regain all of that back, he will be able to draw on his experience as a "death eater" (ugh, it hurts to type that) and will be able to keep himself in check.

It's good to know he has someone on his side now and he won't always be alone.

Jen (FredsGirl)

P.S. Sorry about Brett!

Author's Response: I'm excited to write the H/G reunion! And yes, he'll be able to do both, use what he's learned from Voldy himself, as well as try and keep himself together.

Another great chapter. Clever of you to use Cedric's dad here to draw into Harry's subconcious which caused Harry's bold defiance to Voldemort. The description of Harry snapping Ginny's neck and watching her die was a sure way to get the old Harry to come to the surface. Now, Harry has some glimmer of hope and help. Yeah. No signs of a dry spell in this chapter. Nice work.

Author's Response: It took me a while to decide who to use as a trigger for Harry to come forward and break through. I was actually going to use Kingsley...but I didn't want to kill him, but I also didn't want to send him back to the Order under the Imperius. So Amos worked well i think. And the whole neck thing was something that I wrote and then went "Whoa".

First, my condolences in your time of despair. I'm so sorry about Brett.

Second, this is by far one of my favorite stories ever on SIYE. I just love the turn it has taken, with Harry going Dark. I was glad that Snape found him and is going to help him return to the light.

*rubs hands* now I can't wait for the H/G reunion. ooooooooooooooooooooooh.
It's gonna be a GOOD ONE.

Author's Response: Thanks! I and Packer Nation will take all the condolences we can. And I assure you...I will get over it--someday. And I hope the H/G reunion plays out as I imagine. It's been running around in my head for months so I can't wait to get it out!
