What a brilliant birthday. i guess though there are going to be more occasions where harry will go instinctively to do things and realise he cant. i dont think i'm going to take getting soap on my hands for granted for a while.
One weird bit...you mentioned remus seeing james' wild hair on the few occasions he saw him around hogwarts...presumably a mistake as they were best friends.

I was just wondering about this no right arm business: I realize that this is a tragedy fic and is probably going to be angst all the way but why not some kind of magical prostetic arm? I mean magical people have created hats that think for themselves, put a memory (or part of a soul) capable of posessing and later taking a new form in to a book and what not. They have a mirror that can see into your soul and show you your gratest desire and stuff like the gargoyle in front of Dumbledores office that respond to voice commands. Why can't there be a artificial arm that would respond to ones thoughts? I mean he still would have to use the left arm for magic because the new arm is not a part of the body and can't be a conduit for magic but it would still make life easier...
I've really been thinking about this because a crippled Harry is a bit much to take in..

Its a great story...but Im also curious about what happened to Dudley and his Girlfriend...Will Harry go see them?? I remember it saying that Dudder's girlfriend likes Harry (Not in a love/sexual way of course) and I wonder if Harry likes her too and would want to go see her and Dudley to see how they are going...
I know Dudley is not the nicest boy in town...but it would be interesting to see how you portray a meeting with him and Harry...
Once again...great story!
Author's Response: There will be a meeting between Harry and Dudley and Sara. We'll find out what's been going on with Dudlay and there will be a "reconcilation" of sorts between Harry and Dudley.

Yay! Another great chapter! We needed a bit of relief and Harry's party was a great outlet. I loved the shoe tying bit - Nice to see Harry accept help from his loved ones instead of fighting it.
The kitties had two questions: 1. What's happened to Dudley and his girlfriend? 2. Will Harry be getting some kind of prosthetic arm? The muggle technology is pretty amazing in the area of prothetics, will wizard technology be even better? I figure Wormtail has a pretty cool "new" hand, I'm hoping Harry gets something cool too.
Again, I love this story and wait paitently...sorta...for the next wonderful chapter.

Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed the chapter. We will find out what happened to Dudley and Sara and they'll meet again in upcoming chapters. And yes...in the next few chapters the issue of Harry getting a prosthetic arm will come up and it will be cool. Kinda like Anikan Skywalker in Star Wars.

Author's Response: There is going to be a scene where Harry encounters Dudley and Sara again. We find out how Dudley's been doing and things like that. Don't worry....I've thought that far ahead! LOL

Aww, yay! I'm glad Harry got to enjoy his birthday. Certainly he'll be better off sharing a room with Ron - I can imagine it being very lonely sleeping alone all the time.
Great chapter, I'm anxious to see how the conversation with Ron and Hermione will go.

Absolutely wonderful chapter! Great family Harry has. It will be hard for Harry as he learns what he can still do and what he needs help with, but he's got the Weasleys, Remus, Tonks, the rest of the Order, and of course Ginny. this is such a fabulous story! I can't wait for more.

Wonderful chapter.
Harry seems to be handling his adjustment well. Better than most. He has periods of frustration and definitely anger in the future, but for what he's gone through and what lies ahead of him, he's been great.
You can tell he really is maturing. We saw a bit of Harry growing up between book 5 and 6, but now he is learning to do things on his own and relearn things he's been doing for years. More importantly he is learning when to let others help him. Good for him.
I was happy that this chapter was lighter than the others. You always need fluffy moments when dealing with serious issues. If not it becomes to much to bear. Harry's bithday was a perfect time to lighten the load a bit.
Author's Response: I'm glad this lighter chapter was so well recieved. I tried to make Harry a bit more independent and better physically. But I also tried to point out that he still needs help and even though he's never really going to get used it, he's learning to accept it as it comes.

I really loved this chapter and about died with the bathroom scene. The image of trying to wash the back of his hand was hilarious. I've actually been through that when I hurt my hand once. I totally related! All the little simple things that make it so real were great. I loved catching Arthur in the bathroom and them having to wait. LOL! I really wondered what he was doing when he came out with his wand in his hand. LOL! I was cracking up. The whole birthday scene was great. Can't wait for the next chapter.
Author's Response: I really wanted Harry's birthday to stand as it's own chapter and I ended up getting to the end and thinking....wow this doesn't really go anywhere. But it was funny and a bit lighter than usual, so I went with it and I'm glad you enjoyed it
