I cant imagine how terrible it must have been to bear witness to those blood curdling screams, never mind the pain for harry.
The scene when harry is crying for his mum is SO moving. It is true that in times of great fear and pain we want our mums...i really felt for molly too wishing lily was there, but if someone needs to take the place of a mother then molly is one of the best alternatives.

An extremely good chapter.. i had tears rolling down my eyes while reading the part where harry calling out for his mother and holding Molly. Really Emotional one!

OMIGAWD...poor Harry! Poor Mrs. W.! Poor Remus! Poor Ron! Poor....well, you get the picture.
EXCELLENT chapter - I think I bawled through the whole thing. Especially Molly's talks to Lilly about her son. AND Molly holding and comforting Harry.
I am still loving the mature Ron helping Ginny through this. Who knew Ron would be the rock for Hermione and Ginny. Good for him. No, good for you!

Oh my, I'm sitting here in tears after reading the last section with Molly. It was beautiful, heartbreaking too. I liked that you had Molly and Lily having met for a moment. It was a nice touch.

Author's Response: The next chapter should be up by at least Monday if not before that. I churned this last chapter out real fast cuz it's been in my head a long time. Harry will wake up....he'll be tired, groggy, and a bit uncomfortable, but the Harry we all know and love will start to show himself a bit. Well, I get my regular crying sessions with your updates. What will I do when you finish the story? I'll be bursting into sobs and stores and at random times. At least I know that when you update I'll have some outlet for tears!
As much as you can tell yourself and others, that scars or loss of an arm doesn't change who the person is, it takes alot to accept. The small things are changed forever. Simple things like hugs. More important things like writings and holding a wand/casting spells. No one wants to sound vane, but what 17 yr old wants to go through life without an arm? Hopefully Ginny can show Harry that although it will take time to get used to it doesn't change how she feels about Harry.
You captured the realness of a situation like this. There is alot of waiting and letting others do things and knowing when you have to sit back and let someone else, someone more knowledgeable and capable handle it. You are left with a feeling of such utter helplessness (as you showed in Molly) it is overwhelming. As romantic as it might sound to have Ginny not want to leave his side, or sleep in a chair next to his bed etc, its not realistic.
I am glad you haven't gone that route
Although I am looking for some tender (albeit heartwrenching) moments between Harry and Ginny soon. (please? I'm not above begging...)
Author's Response: I seem to be making a whole lot of people cry....but that's what I'm going for and I'm not afraid to admit that sometimes I have tears in my eyes or a heavy feeling in my stomach when I re-read what I've written. And the realness of the situation is exactly what I've been trying to capture. Not only am I trying to capture what would happen in regards to let's say....the prophecy or his destiny, but to him mentally and physically, to all those around him and the way they look at him and treat him. And I have always wanted to get inside Molly Weasley's head and discover her exact "motherly" feelings she has for Harry. And Ginny....well I picture her struggling with her need to be with him and her love for him that understands and will honor his whole break-up decision. THere will be some heart-to-heart and tender moments, but not without that uncomfortable and unsure air between them.

I am becoming slightly obsessed with this fic. Checking it everyday-five times a day. Nominating it for awards and always marveling at how you do such a great job of writing angst.
This was one amazing chapter. I always appreciate when any author can capture a truly mother/son relationship between Harry and Molly. Wonderful-it was time to see her true emotions. Especially heart gripping when he was screaming for his mom but yet I was completely estatic at the progress he was making ( as though he is alive and suffering).
However as much as I was looking forward (perhaps to much) to ginny's reaction to Harry I expected it to be quite different. Always the strong and fiesty one, your portrayal of her knowing her one true love was hurt made her seem what I knew she would be-vunerabel. Though I almost expected half way into the chapter to see that strong side of Ginny come forth and comfort Harry almost as Mrs.Weasley had done. Especially when they could hear him screaming in agony in the other room.
Fluff! Ok well we saw a bit of it in the memories of Harry's strong and muscular arms and his adorably cute dimple while they were snogging =) But the small bit you did write was wonderful. Plus..Ron and Hermione! yay!
One of my favorite parts was Molly's memory of Lily. Finally a substitiue to the question, did Molly know her? Good you took your stand on that
All I can say is update soon. As in the next few days if not the next day soon. Please.

I love this story, its so dramatic and well written. This chapter was really good and emotional, and really focused on Molly and her role as surogate mother to Harry. I really cant wait to read more about Hermione and Ginny's emotions during this time.
The only somewhat problem I had is I think that Ginny would have been more pushy to be able to stay with Harry and just sit there to hold his hand. Other than that this story is really great! Your doing a wonderful job, this is one of the better stories I have read.

Well, thank goodness Madam Pomfrey can give Harry wizard medicine now. Poor Ginny. She had a real shock seeing Harry all torn up and missing an arm. I really liked the part about Harry and his mum and Mrs. Weasley. That was sweet.
