A few Ravenclaws were studying Wizarding laws when they stumbled on the law governing the training and licensing of Apparition. It is so vaguely written that any person under any supervision of any instructor can practice Apparition at any time. There is no mention of the qualifications of the instructor or if the instructor must be present to practice. Therefore, any student of Hogwarts qualifies. Once the student population learned this, everybody started "practicing." It will take the Wizengamont over two years to update. The Challenge is to write a story involving students learning to Apparate and how they used their new found ability. The categories for judging are Best Overall, Most Embarrassing, Most Dangerous, and the People's Choice Award. Rules: 1. All general submission rules apply. Stories over 20,000 words are discouraged but not prohibited. R-rated stories are allowed but discouraged. Judges are not required to read stories over 20,000 words or any R-rated stories. 2. All entries must be submitted under The Apparition Challenge (2016-1) sub-category of SIYE Challenges and be submitted by midnight SIYE Time, Monday, February 15, 2016. 3. Only completed stories will be accepted. Multiple chapters are allowed as long as all the requirements are in the chapters and the story is completed by the deadline. All stories still go through the same approval process as normal submissions. Please don't wait till the last minute. |
Just Horsing Around came out of the woodwork on 2016.01.05 - 01:46PM to say:
(Psst - point of order, Sir. Your post title says 'Apparition Challenge (2015-4)' whereas point 2 says 'The Apparition Challenge (2016-1)' - I'm assuming the latter is correct. Not that it matters, I'm just pointlessly pedantic.) Ahem Normal service will be resumed shortly. Move along, nothing to see here, folks...
