We the staff and membership of Sink Into Your Eyes would like to wish a very happy shared birthday to J.K. Rowling (Joanne Murray) and her Wizarding creation Harry Potter (his thirtieth).

Whether or not you've ever considered it, our Harry/Ginny site--all Potterdom sites for that matter--exist only because of Joanne's great generosity.  There are any number of author's out there, such as Anne Rice, who do not permit fan fiction.  It is a credit to her kindness, patience and wonderful sense of humor that we are given this great privilege.  Thank you very much ma'am.

Birthday cake and punch will be served throughout the day in the larger SIYE Ballroom One.  Number Two is still undergoing repairs after the unfortunate incident at Daniel's birthday last week (involving those crazed house-elves and the polka band I hired).  Sorry Boss.

For those one or two people on the planet who do not know, the young actor portrays Harry Potter, one half of that favorite couple to which our site is dedicated. Cake and (unspiked) punch will be served through the day in SIYE Ballroom Two. The Ravenclaw Polka Band has been asked to provide the music.

All eleven judging witches and wizards have read the ten stories and have talked to me.  Also, the People’s Choice Award is closed and all the votes are in.  The Challenge was led by a couple of strong stories that broke away from the pack.  Overall, the Challenge was another success.  And now the winners….

The Girl Talk Challenge People’s Choice Award ends in only four days.  All SIYE members get to vote on their favorite story.  Please choose your selection carefully as you only get one chance and one vote.  Once you submit your vote, you do not get a second chance and you cannot change it.

Senior Administrator for Trinkets

A number of readers may have noticed that three stories have been removed from SIYE.  All the Reviews were removed also.  It was brought to our attention, which we confirmed, that the stories were plagiarized, or stolen from their real author.  The original stories can be found at FanFiction(dot)net and HarryPotterFanFiction(dot)com by the original author.  They have the same names and are all completed over a year ago.

Sink Into Your Eyes web site never has, does not, and never will tolerate plagiarism in any form, by any author, on any web site.  We will viciously pursue the truth and expose the thief. "CoolwhipSpecial" is no longer welcome on SIYE even if he wrote and submitted his own story.

SIYE Administration is sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.  I hope the readers will respect the original author and continue reading the stories on these other sites.

Lily Potter has done her duty in helping Ginny win over Harry and help him defeat Old Moldy Shorts.  Therefore the Challenge is now closed.  There are ten terrific stories describing how she did it; from using a book to flying a broom to teaching her the Bat-Bogey Hex, or was it she got hexed with the Bat-Bogey Hex.  Even Dean got in on the act, but he got the ax.  So now it’s time for our mystery judges to start working on which stories will win the categories of Best Overall, New Skills, and Adventure.

“One of the biggest fears Harry has is seeing you get hurt.” Lily continued into the early morning hours of Ginny’s sleep.  “He knows you can handle yourself.  But if in a fight together and that happens, he will be so distracted.”

“Why so?” Ginny asked.  “He’s training us to be in a fight.  What if somebody else gets hurt?”

“Harry cares if any of his friends gets injured.  But since you are becoming his main interest, there is a lot more concern.  There is a difference.  That kind of distraction could get him hurt or killed.”

“So what am I suppose to do?  Sit at Hogwarts and study Charms when he needs me.”

Lily thought about her answer carefully.  “There may be times when he will ask you to not get involved or even stay behind.  I know it goes against your very nature to help him.  But not being involved may be the better help you could provide.  Knowing you are safe will make him feel better”

There is so much Lily could tell Ginny on how to get closer to her son Harry.  We’ll just have to wait to read your Challenge stories.
