It is time to pass out some Treats with no Tricks. On behalf of the SIYE staff, I would like to award the winning stories for the Haunted House 2004 Challenge. It was a close race but a couple of good stories stood out.
The Best Overall treat goes to ...
"The Razor's Edge" by St. Margarets
The Most Romantic treat goes to ...
"Angel of Mine" by Lizzie Weasley
The Most Humorous treat goes to ...
"Through the Dark" by Pirate Ginny
The Scary/Haunting treat goes to ...
"Blood in the Moonlight" by Potter47
The winning stories are now prominently listed in our Featured Stories section.
One of the Bonus Point phrases was "And no, I don't happen to have any Grey Poupon." Grey Poupon is a mustard. The term came from an American television commercial from about ten years ago. It became a fad to ask for Grey Poupon, showing you were sophisticated and had good taste. I immediately realized, through some reviews, that our international readers didn't understand this phrase. Therefore, it was not counted for or against any author.
Please watch out for the next Challenge coming shortly. My thanks to the participating authors, staff judges, and mostly, you, our readers. Now it's time to-Bob for Apples!!

Lord Dreadnault came out of the woodwork on 2004.10.30 - 11:36PM to say:
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the contest. I know that this is kind of a cliche thing to say, but you're all winners. :) I really enjoy reading all of the challenge stories. LD/RS
