♫ “Take me out to the Quidditch match! Take me down to the pitch! Buy me some corned beef and Bertie Bott’s! We promise no hex when they take their shots! Then it’s hoot, hoot, hoot for the home team! If they crash it’s a shame! But it’s one, two, three catch that Snitch! It’s the old Quidditch match!” ♫ Yes true believers, it’s the start of another Quidditch season at Hogwarts. Harry and Ginny have taken to the air again on their brooms in search of Quaffles, Snitches, and untold glory. Anything can happen, and “anything” is a very broad word. Your Challenge is to write our favorite couple into a Quidditch-central story. Excitement, action, suspense, and (as always) creativity are as much the goal as Harry catching that golden ball or Ginny catching her favorite wizard. Rules: 1. All general submission rules apply. Stories over 20,000 words are discouraged but not prohibited. R-rated stories are allowed but discouraged. Judges are not required to read stories over 20,000 words or any R-rated stories. 2. All entries must be submitted under Quidditch Challenge 2014-4, sub-category of SIYE Challenges and be submitted by midnight SIYE Time, Saturday, November 15, 2014. That gives you 45 days. 3. Completed stories are seriously preferred. Multiple chapters are allowed as long as all the requirements are in the chapters that are submitted by the deadline. 4. The categories for judging are Best Overall, Best Game Action, Most Humorous, and The People’s Choice Award. Naturally, this Challenge is the perfect excuse to plop down with a tub of popcorn to watch all your favorite baseball, football, or fútbol games…as research. *** With my thanks to Spenser Hemmingway for his 100% contribution. I can't sing that well. |

I thought that banjo-playing house elf band gave Spenser a restraining order. He needs to be careful.
