And the winners are-
Luna walking on the moon. Neville trucking through the jungle. Hermione straightening out a library (of course). And Harry romancing on the beach. The Dream Adventure Challenge took our Hogwarts students all over the world, and then some. Eleven judges enjoyed struggling through all 22 stories to choose the best of each category. But the winners have been established. The results are as follows:

The Award for Best Overall goes to ...

"The Simplest Things" by Melindaleo

The Award for Most Romantic goes to ...

"An Ultimate Dream" by Tanydwr

The Award for Most Humorous goes to ...

"Oh, The Sillyness" by Rufiel

The Award for Most Adventurous goes to ...

"The Erised Charm" by Feral Black Gryphon

(*** Received the most nominations for any category)

The winning stories are now prominently listed in our Featured Stories section.

An Honorable Mention for TomFoolery (pun intended) for "Dream Adventure" by Miss Gryffindor. That story was posted 5 seconds after the Challenge was posted because I wrote it and Miss Gryffindor agreed to post it for me. As expected, it didn't get any nominations-none whatsoever. (boo hoo)

Some of the stories were fairly predictable but a few stood out as quite imaginary. A lot of thought went into some of these. Those of you that have multiple chapters or need to do some editing may continue at this time. The Challenge category is back open.

I wish to thank the authors for talking the time to think up and write a story to submit. But I want to thank the judges most of all for their time and effort in reading all the stories and making the tough decisions of which is better than the others:

John, Kiki, Laree, Laura, Merlani, Nuria, Paulina, Sabine, Tricia, Vic, and I'm Tom.

Be on the lookout for the next Challenge July 15 when school is out and the students try to enjoy their summer vacation. But some of them can't.

Good job on your hard work to everyone who participated! Will there ever be an angst category in any of these challenges? Can't wait for the next challenge.

Congrads to all who won. =D

LuckyHP - you're the second person to ask. Therefore, there will be. Also a Drama category coming up soon.

Professor Scroll came out of the woodwork on 2005.06.30 - 09:29AM to say:

Congratulations to all who won. Your stories were excellent. P.Scroll

Diagon Alley. So...they have to get a part-time job, in Diagon Alley, at minumum wage? Er...right. That's such a CLICHE though...I mean, I've read THOUSANDS of stories where they had to do that...and of course I'm kidding, because that really is probably one of the things I would have expected least from a challenge. I'm very much looking forward to the actual challenge, to assist in comprehension. Good job with the originality. :)

Sir Ollivander came out of the woodwork on 2005.06.30 - 10:45AM to say:

Potter47 - not exactly "get" and not exactly "everybody." And thank you.

MythWeaver came out of the woodwork on 2005.06.30 - 11:22AM to say:

Congrats to all the winners! I'm hoping time will permit me to write for the next challenge- can you tell us if it will it be pre or post HBP?

Sir Ollivander came out of the woodwork on 2005.06.30 - 01:00PM to say:

Ruby - I agree. Yeah. No. Could be. Definitely not. Take a pill. You'll have to.

Sir Ollivander came out of the woodwork on 2005.06.30 - 01:02PM to say:

MythWeaver - the next Challenge, starting July 15, will be Pre-HBP. I doubt that all our authors and readers will have finished the new book in such short of time.

Tricia came out of the woodwork on 2005.06.30 - 01:14PM to say:

Congrats to all the winners of this challenge! It was indeed, a hard choice but just because a story didn't win, doesn't mean you didn't do an excellent job. I applaued everyone who entered the challenged.

rufiel came out of the woodwork on 2005.06.30 - 05:59PM to say:

You telling me I actually won something? Wow, I haven't won anything since always if I remember right. Anyway, there were a lot of good stories in the challenge and I enjoyed reading them!

Now I'm off, but I will enjoy to see my name in the Featured Stories Selection. Congratulations to the other winners by the way,,,

Now I'm off.

Tanydwr came out of the woodwork on 2005.07.01 - 10:26AM to say:

You're posting a challenge right before Half-Blood Prince comes out? Weird...
I can't believe I got an award!
Thank you to all the poor people who had to read through all the stories - you all did a great job!
And congratulations to all the winners!

Sir Ollivander came out of the woodwork on 2005.07.01 - 07:29PM to say:

Tanydwr - after numerous discussions, yes, we will present the next Challenge at the normally scheduled time. No matter when the #6th or #7th book comes out it will interfere one way or another.

However, we don't expect all our readers and authors to either have purchased the next book or check it out of the library, and have read it. So the Challenge will go as scheduled. It will be Pre-HBP.

Potter47 came out of the woodwork on 2005.07.04 - 01:51PM to say:

This whole 'pre-HBP' thing has made me think of something: will SiYE be opening a 'post-HBP' category as soon as the book is released? Or, if an author has an idea while reading and writes it as soon as they have read the whole book, would they have to place it in the Post-OotP category? Just curious...

Sir Ollivander came out of the woodwork on 2005.07.05 - 11:44AM to say:

Potter47 - Yes, we will. One of these days, befoer the book comes out, a Post-HBP category will be created.

ElusiveEvan came out of the woodwork on 2005.07.18 - 03:28PM to say:

Diagon Alley?

Interesting, I must wonder, was there a meaning behind the bolding of that phrase or was it just an amusing thing to do, for I did find it amusing when I got Dia, and didn't realize until I also had Gon what it might be.

But yes, good job everyone!
