Comments DarkLady came out of the woodwork on 2008.06.22 - 07:10AM to say: I'm having so much fun reading the stories that are being uploaded and each one of them are different; all unique in their own way. I'm sure the judges are going to have a hard time deciding who the winners are going to be... Good luck to all. Fics by Fumph came out of the woodwork on 2008.06.26 - 03:52PM to say: Just popping in to say that this was a great challenge, and I really enjoyed taking part! Just a quick question - I have an idea for a sequel bubbling over, but it's not going to be written in time to meet the deadline. I know it won't be eligible for judging, but will I still be able to submit it to the site? Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2008.06.26 - 09:30PM to say: Fumph--Your best bet would be just to submit it as you normally would a story, but in your summary you can indicate that it's a sequel. Sounds great! Eric B. Fics by Fumph came out of the woodwork on 2008.06.27 - 04:47PM to say: Thanks, Eric! Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2008.06.27 - 07:04PM to say: Ah...we are currently at twenty-six stories! The record for a Challenge is twenty-eight. We have three days and a full staff of Beta Readers who would be glad to help with any last minute plot bunnies (or dragons). As for time... "One day I shall come back. Yes I shall come back. Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties. Just go forward in all your beliefs, and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine." The Doctor, William Hartnell, 26 December 1964. There is always time. Eric B. sanidad came out of the woodwork on 2008.06.29 - 11:54AM to say: Hits the [Submit] button... It's done! It's done! It's finally done! What a relief... this challenge really beat me up. Zen came out of the woodwork on 2008.06.29 - 04:50PM to say: I wonder if I'm going to have time to finish my third entry...>.< This has totally worn me out. Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2008.06.29 - 11:46PM to say: I just counted seven unfinished stories. If you are done, then please indicate so. We have another day, but it is hard to concentrate on incomplete stories that actually might be. We are passing the hat to send Sir Ollivander to Jamaica after this to recover from the work he is doing. Send all loose change, checks and money orders to The Falls View Tavern in care of Eric's tab fund. What...? What...? By the way--we've st the record for Challenge entries. Zen came out of the woodwork on 2008.06.30 - 04:34PM to say: I got it in before the deadline! It only needs to be validated now. Phew! sanidad came out of the woodwork on 2008.06.30 - 08:28PM to say: Zen: Wow! Three entries! Gotta take my hat off to you! Spenser Hemmingway came out of the woodwork on 2008.07.01 - 02:22AM to say: It's now a sliver past deadline, but what is time? I validated the last submission and now I'm sure that Sir Ollivander has closed the gates. This is going to be the judges' biggest challenge since my mother wanted Dad to allow Great Aunt Tessie to move into the guest room. Fantastic job everyone! Whether or not J.K.R. ever reads our stuff, we've made history tonight with this Challenge. Eric B. | |||||||||||

Now I have John Denver's song Grandma's Feather Bed stuck in my head...
We didn't get much sleep, but we had a lot of fun
On Grandma's feather bed
Yes I'd trade them all plus the gal down the road...
(Well maybe I should reconsider about that red haired, brown-eyed gal down the road)
For Grandma's feather bed!
Unless I miss my bet, we're going to set some records with this Challenge. We have some great stories and some really outrageous ones as well. We'd like to welcome werekitten to the Beta Reader staff. I'm sure that she'd love to break herself in helping anyone having trouble with a submission. All of us are available. Eric B.
