IMPORTANT Fixes and New Features! |
| Log out and log back in to the site. Did you see it? Did you notice? What you see is the new user panel for SIYE. We call it My SIYE. This nifty thing called for some serious code work, and Chris one of my Tech Team is who you should give a huge round of applause for this. He worked on something he thought would be good for the site, and I for one LOVE IT!! This will allow many things. Authors to be contacted, for suggestions, or to let them know of a mistake in their story so they can correct it. No need to use the review feature for this. The Archive team can now contact authors faster, and speed up the process of correcting stories for posting to the site if they are not meeting the submission rules. Authors can contact the Archivist they see in their user logs as the person working on their story for information, and status. Users can contact one another to open the door to a more community feel. This will also be a small tease to the things to come with 3.0 of the site. I bet when co-authors becomes an option this will be a handy option for the site. There is a history feature that shows the last 20 stories you looked at, and on top of that you get to see the most recent list, as you log in to the site. There is a better block for management for themes and your personal options to the site as well. Overall this is the 1st serious upgrade to the site, since we opened 2.0. There is also a fix to the search feature. An error was reported that appeared to keep all of you from searching with the advanced feature. As one of the better features imo, I was glad to have it reported and even more so to get it fixed. That fix also gave way to new search features. Like result counts, and better page numbering. Chris, you did a great service to this site, and I want to thank you. Well done! Speaking as an admin now, I offer this bit of advice. Harassment, Spam, or Abuse of this system is decided at the sole discretion of the Staff of SIYE. Those found guilty of abuse, and or other violations of this system will find themselves banned from this domain. I'm not being mean, just being fair and honest. No one likes abuse, or spam. Its been done in the past, and I just wanted to be a little proactive here. Enjoy the site. I remember back when 1000 members was a great feat. Now we are 5000+ strong and growing day by day. Here's to another 5000 people! Also, notice that after you log in under the header(top image) there is a msg telling you how many new messages you have. This was added today and will follow you all over the site.
