The Harry Bond 007 Challenge is now closed.  Bond’s mission is successfully completed.  Now it’s time for the judges at MI6 to study the post-mission script and determine the outcome for Best Overall, Originality, and Characterization.

Everybody else, regardless of their reading clearance, can place their votes in People’s Choice Award. But remember, you get one shot at one vote.  You cannot change it later.  So make it count.

All the judging will be completed and the winners will be posted on Friday, May 31, 2013.  A hardy “well done” to our two authors who accepted this mission.  Hip, Hip, hooray!

Well, it could happen.  You write your story and I’ll write mine!

The 2012-4 Challenge was called “The Bond,” concerning the soul bonding between Harry & Ginny.  It was a successful Challenge and some chapters are still being written.  However, I received a number of e-mails and comments from readers & writers’ thinking it was a play on James Bond, Special Agent 007.  Therefore, I will allow you your fun for this Challenge.

The Challenge is to write a Harry Potter story based on the popular James Bond books and movies.  It can be funny, dramatic, sartorial, original, whatever you want.  It can be based on all the players being first years or adults after graduation or anything in between.

Rules:

1. All general submission rules apply. Stories over 20,000 words are discouraged but not prohibited.  R-rated stories are allowed but discouraged. Judges are not required to read stories over 20,000 words or any R-rated stories.

2. All entries must be submitted under “Harry Bond 007” Challenge (2013-2) sub-category of SIYE Challenges and be submitted by midnight SIYE Time, Wednesday, May 15, 2013.

3. Completed stories are seriously preferred.  Multiple chapters are allowed as long as all the requirements are in the chapters that are submitted by the deadline. 

4. The categories for judging are Best Overall, Originality, Characterization, and The People’s Choice Award.

The Challenge had an interesting batch of eight stories to be reckoned with.  Harry was able to transform into his Animagus form and eventually to get back out of it.  Our eight judges transform their votes into three stories that won for their authors.  And the winners are….

I would like to thank my many judges who worked hard for this Challenge: A few are new; I welcome aboard.  Thank you AM, FF, JG, LK, LS, NS, S/, & SM.  You know who you are. Thank you very much for all that reading and judging. Your time to help out is quite valuable. The Challenge would not exist if nobody judged them.  No one judge picked all first place winners.  But a bunch were correct adding in the second places.

Some authors have asked if I would tell them how well they did in the judging. If you wish, e-mail me and I will tell you your results.

*** An added note:  A couple of judges noticed and mentioned to me that those authors that said they had betas reading over their stories scored better in the Challenge and overall ratings than those that didn’t mention betas.  Remember, ANYBODY can be a beta; a teacher, best friend, a friend on the bus, a mentor, parent, sibling, co-worker, sweetheart, UPS driver, old Mrs. What’s-her-name next door, ANYBODY!

The deadline for submitting stories for the Animagus Challenge has passed and the judges are working hard to determine who wins the categories of Best Overall, Transformation, and Survival Skills.

The fourth category is the People’s Choice Award.  Anybody and everybody can vote on which of the eight stories they liked the best.  This is a popular choice category.  You all get one chance at one vote.  So make it count.  Click on the People’s Choice Award and pick your favorite story you liked the best.  It closes on Wednesday, February 27.  The winner will be posted the next day, Feb 28.  Your story can't win if you don't vote for it.

It is now 17 February in Hogsmeade and London. We the staff and membership of Sink Into Your Eyes would like to wish Miss Bonnie Wright, the actress who portrayed Ginny Weasley, one half of the famous pair to which this site is dedicated, a very happy birthday. Cake, butter beer, and musical entertainment will be provided throughout the day in what is left of SIYE Ballroom Two (we had a small problem with Seamus and his little experiment with meteorites).
